Last time it was pretty disappointing, it was like the lowest capacity and not really even a sale price.

It looks like it'll be a good week of Shell Shockers. :)

I'm definitely going to have to see what the deal on the 3.5" internal drive is going to be. I'd love to see great price on a 1TB+ drive. :D

What time do they post the sale? Usually great deals you have to buy like immediately.

lol, I actually could use a new Coffee Maker. It will seem rather odd purchasing it from Newegg.

I still can't justify the $:MB of SSDs yet after the sole 80GB I bought and subsequently sold.

    320GB WD Scorpio Black NEW for $64 or a 80GB SSD for $200+.... (Yet I can justify a 920XM....that's called PRIORITIES kids!! ;) )

Yeah. I like my 80GB G2 Intel, and the fast reaction, but it just doesn't seem to justify the cost. At the moment, I'm debating whether or not to see if I can get a decent resale of the SSD and stick with my trusty old Raptor until SSD prices drop a bit, or just sell the Raptor to make up some of the cost.

Nothing can be trusted right now, not until 12:00am April 2. :p
No, I bet it's real, I just wonder if it's really Intel and not some other brand? Considering Newegg has just lowered the price on Intel SSD's recently, I can't imagine it, but anything is possible. :) It bears watching nonetheless. :)

Edit: I knew it. The 40GB Intel SSD down to $98.99 vs. the regular $124.99. Not much of a shell shocker.

Considering that Intel SSD prices seemed to have lowered across the board (Newegg and Amazon atleast), I think Newegg wouldn't be too happy lowering them again (for the 80 and 160GB models).
I have no proof, it's just speculation, but I wonder if Intel was finally able to ramp up production and meet demand, and directed all of their suppliers to start selling at MSRP. Too many for too long took advantage of the shortage and were charging outrageous prices for them (including Newegg).

Not the greatest deal, but at least the $99 price point is the lowest that Newegg has ever offered for this drive:

Understanding everyone is waiting for the higher storage capacity ssds, this ssd is definitely the biggest bang for the buck right now for the average user and, well, maybe Intel meant to strike that chord.

Have we even heard boo of the competition to this (OCZ Onyx)??? I don't think we will because the consumer is becoming a bit more educated and understanding that they choose an ssd for a specific reason and not simply because of the top sequential write score which is used so little in reality.
