Very nice deal; I paid $90 when it came out. I highly recommend this hard drive, I continue to be impressed with its speed, quietness, and lack of vibration. I upgraded from a Seagate 7200.4 and notice the difference immediately.

In benchmarks the 7K500 500GB is about 30-35% faster than my Western Digital WD5000BEVT (500GB 5400RPM).

Interesting. It is on sale in the newspaper for $64 and yesterday on the website at the link posted the $99 was crossed out and it said something similar to "Add to Cart to see price" which when in the Cart it was $64.99.

If you notice, the Sale dates are still listed in the link even though the regular price is $99. I called our local Fry's and it is on sale for $64.99. I think Fry's website had a glitch during the night and is now displaying the wrong price.

If anyone is interested in the $64 price give Fry's a call and inquire at your local location about current pricing just to make sure they have not changed it to certain metropolitan areas.

I just went down to Fry's this morning and picked one up. It is $64.00. I called them up and asked about the special price not being there any more on their web site and he said in store prices, and online prices were different. I said, I know but the special I'm talking about was for in store pick up only. When I asked if he could confirm the price of the item number of the unit in his store he became extremely exasperated. Not a clue why. Whatever. I can't wait to throw this baby in!

I believe you are right. That is the same packaging of the drives at Fry's for $64.

Yes, it is the same drive that is at Fry's and it is also the same drive that Newegg has listed here
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145275&nm_mc=OTC-RSS for $74.99.
