The 7K320 i exceptionally quiet. I have three of them, and they are all very quiet drives. The 7K320 series has a triple thickness cover on it, which helps cancel almost all of the noise from the drive. I cant feel any vibrations with any of my drives, and they are all very quiet.
Keep in mind all three of mine are the single platter 160Gb models. The dual platter config may be a bit louder.

Hi k-tron I'm planning to put these in my 6831fx if i were to raid0 my 7k320s is there a reason to believe that these drives in raid0 config would cause more noise/vibration/heat than usual?

If you are putting two in raid 0, think of it as two drives. If some people complain about the sound of one harddrive in a system, your going to have two, so expect it to be audible.

I have two 7K320's in my D900K, and when it was working, the harddrives were inaudible (their are 4 fans in the system always running at full speed, so I couldnt hear the drives at all)
Your system has a much smaller and quieter cooling system, so expect to hear the drives.

When you have files stored in raid 0 half of the data is on each drive, so the drives are going to be running and accessing files at the same time, so you will hear pretty loud clicks when opening files.

Awesome deal, I just jumped on it. Add to that 5% Live cashback (or fatwallet or ebates) and this is a killer deal.
