    Encryption option

The Hitachi Travelstar 7K500 Mobile Hard Drive features optional Bulk Data Encryption (BDE) for hard-drive-level data security. Just called the Fry's here in Vegas, they have apparently changed their "phone" policy now to only say "Yes we have the item in stock" and when I asked about quantity the guy only said "We're not allowed to say, sir." So then I asked if they had a few and he said "Enough for about half a day" which didn't make much since.

I really REALLY want one of these, like right freakin' now but, even at this insanely great price I just can't afford one. Got bills to cover tomorrow... damn, what a deal. :)

Just saw it on Fry's and was gonna post it up.
I think this is the best deal yet, thinking about picking up another even though I have absolutely no need for it.

With everyone raving about SSDs, I gave in to the temptation and bought one (Samsung PM800 256gb) to see for myself. Needless to say... I'm back to using my Hitachi 7k500 and sold the SSD with no regrets. Not saying the Hitachi 7k500 will give you SSD speeds, but it is plenty fast for most typical users.
