First off, I have our schools EPP code.

The first difference I see starting out is the $120 discount for going through EPP but I can't get that $120 to "stick", meaning that if I do an EPP purchase and a regular Home Office purchase side by side, by the time I get to my carts the base price for both is the same instead of the EPP side showing the initial $120 discount. I know I've done something wrong, can anyone offer any help?

    Thanks!

I ordred my first xps m1210 from there. I am in the army.......you click on federal governemtn
then you click on employee purchase
configure the system and checkout \\

that's all there is to it.......

make sure you do it only on one browser and one system. if you are doing systems side by side with differnt programs... (i.e. one order for epp andthe other for home or whatever) it will not give u the proper discount

You have to be logged into the EPP site. There's a special link that you should have and then you use the company/school code. Try this link and then enter the code www.dell.com/epp/rainingdeals

Once in, your cart is separate from the Home and Home Office cart or site. It's very confusing and requires you to use different windows/logins if you want to shop side-by-side to see if you're getting a better deal through the EPP program or the regular (dell.com) site. On the regular site you can use coupons that are issued.

I'd try to find the best deal/configuration you can and then call and ask the sales rep if they can change anything around or offer a better deal. They may not lower the price outright (though they can), but they could offer you gift cards, upgrades on various options (especially warranty and service configuration).

Thanks to both of you for the replies! The note about keeping things separate was very helpful however I still can't get the initial Member Discount to calculate.

    The m1530 reads:

    Starting Price $2,098
    Instant Savings $599
    Member Discount $120

But when I click "Best" to begin building my system I only see this in the top right corner:

    Starting Price $2,098
    Instant Savings $599

Any ideas? I'm doing something wrong but I have no idea what lol.

    Thanks!

It wont show your member discount until the system is in your cart.

Is it the line that reads:

I had been (possibly foolishly) thinking that this 8% discount was in addition to the $120 "Member Discount" listed before I even started building my system.

The member discount you see when you look at the intial preconfigured systems is based on your EPP discount for that preconfig system. You add or subtract features and what it shows for the member discount will change. There are also some preconfig system discounts that are in addition to your member discount.

I understand that, I really do. I'm still confused however - I click to purchase the "best" XPS m1530 system and before clicking on Build I see this:

    Starting Price $2,098
    Instant Savings $599
    Member Discount $120

If I click Build and then immediately add the item to my cart, no config, is what I'm seeing in my previous message (the 8% statement) the $120 that I see in the lines pasted above?

    Thanks man!
