I have several Dells and I bought each with big discounts and/or coupons. Sometimes I was able to combine two or threes to generate big discount.

Now I am interested in possibly buying a Lenovo T61 or T60. I know that Lenovo now has 25% off on these computers, but it seems this discount is not so deep as some Dell's past discounts.

    So my questions are:

    1. Is this 25% discount the possiblly biggest one Lenovo ever offers? How deep does Lenovo discount can go in big holidays such as July 4?

    2. I often have Dell coupons. I can also easily find them in eBay.
Does Lenovo often do coupons too? Stackable? Where to find/buy them? I cannot find any on eBay.

    3. Does Lenovo provides something similar to Dell's preferred account that creates 2-3% addtional discount?

Thanks in advance for your input!

    Cheers,
    David

    Hi MDDZ.
Where do you get your discounts/coupons for Dell?
    I am thinking of buying.
I can't seem to combine them though.
Somehow, the Dell notebooks I assemble online still manages to go up to $1,800 ($-500 already, with the normal top of the line specs, 2.0ghz, 2gb ram bla bla.)

    gablaze23,

I know what you are talking about. Dell normall offer some discounts publicly. Sometimes, you can find stackable coupons on eBay. For example, a few days I noticed a stackable 10% off coupon there, which can knock off addtional $180. A nice deduction :) This is another example:

Which Dell laptop are you considering?

You know of similar Lenovo deals?

One reason I paid more for quality laptops (4 Powerbooks and 1 Toughbook) is because I always get my money's worth and then some. Also, their values will not diminish like Dell (as well as other bargain brands).

    1. I believe their discount will be determine at the time, but I don't believe their discount will be too outrageous as "discounts" tend to reflect their future sales as well (i.e. no one will buy Dell on regular prices....only on sale and coupons). Right now it is about ~28% off at Lenovo, even though 25% is advertised....go figure.

    2. I have yet to see open coupons for IBM computers....not sure what Lenovo will do about this.

    3. No they do not, as they do not offer their own financing.

Hey dark5. As you read some of the other posts related to that order, ppl are still unsure on whether the orders will go through and if accepted whether Warranties will be accepted as the purchase would violate certain agreements made at the time of order. Right now, I would stick to the existing discount and TailorMade (if you have AMEX). Better to be safe than sorry.

However, many people believe that the discounts offered this summer will be fairly close to one another from percentage or price of the unit change as this market is getting very competitive with the release of newer processor.

There is also fatwallet 6% discount that can be used with the AMEX/Tailormade discount.

One problem is the delayed shipping of lenovo which may kill the tailormade offer.
