I was wondering if I should go ahead and bite the dust on newegg for 238.14 with taxes and free shipping. The answer is probably no, but does anyone know whether there will be any cashbacks on this anytime soon or any discounts?

Well there's Bing Cashback on Newegg, usually 2%.

$430 for the 160GB is a better value per GB if your ok with the extra money:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...167017&cm_re=intel_ssd-_-20-167-017-_-Product

Take off 3% more for bing cashback. OEM is the same as retail, just no box.

Best deal right now is $150 for the G1 80GB Intel, its just a tad slower than the G2 but no trim. This kit not only has the 80gb Intel SSD but also the 2.5" adapter kit and the external enclosure to put your old drive into all for $150 after the coupon code.

    $30 coupon code - SNCDANE80G

As for other big deals, none that I know of. People are expecting big discounts near year end when intel comes out with the smaller micron process and releases the higher capacity SSD's but they also expected a big discount with the G2 SSD's and that really never happened, so nobody can say for sure if we will see a big price break near year end.

Well aren't most things cheap when you buy more if it ;) but nah it's too expensive. Also, i've been looking at the deals too but I just don't think I want to go with a slower an less efficient (trim) drive just because it's cheaper. If I did want to do that I would go for the hitachi 7k500.

Let's just hope that prices don't drop or that technology improves as fast as it usually does, else I will have extreme buyer's remorse, which I already have extreme cases of... even according to my sig.

Ty, went to go check it out my old email i deleted for the sneak peak shell shockers. It seems it might be the retail version though (according to the pic). The retail version itself is 70$ more than OEM version.

The Intel X18-M is not slow. It is only a little bit slower compared to the Intel X25-M G2. X18-M G1 for only $150 is a GOOD deal for 80GB.

No Trim only means that you have to manually Trim it with a software every once in awhile. There are probably softwares to schedule that automatically.

I just bought a new OCZ Agility 60GB for $169.99 this week!! The X18-M is faster than my SSD! Plus 20GB extra! I rather not have TRIM and get 20GB extra + better performance. My OCZ drive has MIR but I heard some people are not getting theirs so I'm expecting for the worse.
