Apparently, the notebook manufaturers are hit with rising prices of raw materials (primarily cobalt & nickel) and labor costs. So expect the prices on notebook computers to rise in very near future.

if it wasnt for the rising price of gasoline, there wouldn't be fuel efficient cars on the road today. although i'm not sure what effects high priced notebooks will have.

The only big change they'll make is smaller numbers, so they can fit more of them in the same size row. -
SO the price of new pc's are rising but that only means the models out now will go down alot. AM I reading this correctly

laptop prices will stay at the price that consumers want to buy them.
the components used may just be cheaper. -

The prices may rise as we have seen with batteries since the supply is low, but there isn't going to be a drastic change in price. Either way it will self adjust because people will buy less.

I read in my local paper (Seattle) that LCD HDTV prices are expected to rise too, due to China's higher raw material & labor costs.
I'm sure many products from there will start going up some. -
