Does anyone who has taken advantage of these rebates in the past know if you can actually get a check instead of a "reward card"? This line in the terms and conditions seems to imply that you can:

I may jump on this if that's the case :)

I had bought an Intel 120Gig SSD from Buy.com about 2 weeks ago. I will work on the rebate tonight and want the check as well. If this deal is still going and I have information on the rebate, I will update you.

Anybody else have experience cashing in rebates from Intel? This deal is ending in a few days.

I did. No problem. Took about six weeks. Was an AmEx cash card though. Strange thing is it arrived and was just an AmEx cash card with no indication of amount or who it was from. So I had to go online to find the value, and then realized it must have been from them.

Good to know. By chance, did you notice if there was actually a number on the card that you could call to request a check like the TaC says?

Dunno, didn't check. Don't have it anymore. Actually used it to spread my thermal paste and then chucked it afterwards, lol.

Ha! Thanks for the info anyway! I may bite the bullet and buy either the 120GB or 160GB tomorrow depending on what's still in stock.

I filled out the rebate online at Intel and it would not allow me to change to a check, it would only allow the AMEX card. This was on the 120Gig drive. No way of knowing if the 160Gig model would allow that or not.

Still good deal on the drive. Free shipping and still available at the rebate price at the top of my post.

Thanks for checking up on that! I think I'll end up waiting for a better deal down the road on an Intel 120/160GB (hopefully one that doesn't involve rebates).

Hopefully with the Intel 300 series, 500 series, and G3 that the G2 will drop in price considerably in the next few months. I think the 120GB X25-M is the best bang for buck at the moment being able to buy it for less than $200 frequently without rebate. Hoping 160GB G2 will drop to about $200 in the next six months.
