Yeah for those that do not know, this is supposedly an intel rebrand but its the G1 intel not the newer and now standard G2.... so take that into mind.

How does this compare to a OCZ Agility 60GB? Which one is faster?

New, this will be faster than the agility, but after time due to lack of trim the agility will keep most of its speed and this one will slow down.

Thats how I think it will play out.

You can manually trim the drive with some software though once in a while, maybe even make it a schedules task? Not sure. Im holding out for the intel refresh later this year and shooting for a 160gb drive at about this same price ratio.

Ahw man... I just purchased my OCZ Agility 60GB from Newegg for a week! LOL.. I'm having buyer remorse now.. :D

There should be some software to schedule TRIM. I would take the speed over some automatic software :D Enthusiasts like to tweak their computer once in awhile right? :) Too bad Newegg doesn't offer return for the OCZ Agility :(

There will always be buyers remorse in technology it just moves too fast. I wont be surprised to see this deal out shadowed in 3 months by something better.

But Under $2.00 per GB if you get the full discount price. This is great and about the price point I said I would buy a SSD at. Its just not large enough for me I need 120GB+ and would prefer one that supports TRIM nativily.

Tempted none the less but I can pass on this one.

Edit: oh and I must say its actually a even better deal if you think about the free enclosure. For me with a laptop that has 2 HDD's its perfect so I can just put my internal hdd into the enclosure and use it as an external drive. Those cost like $10-20 so your only paying like $140 for the SSD, also add Bing Cashback to the deal to save another $3.00

I bought one of these a month ago! highly recommended! the included encloser is actually pretty decent(especially for free)! this is a 'rebrand' intel but it really is an intel even in the bios it is recognized as a intel.

If only I could put two of the 1.5" 80gb together in a single 2.5" drive :D then I could go for it but 80gb is not enough :/

If your a gamer then 60 gb is way too little, i have the 80gb and it still feels too small, i have to delete alot of my stuff or transfer them another hdd since my m15x only has 1 hd slot

Yeah... My Asus has 2 HDD slots. That's why I have 250GB in the other slot. I usually install my games and crap there. I only have 30GB left on my SSD!! If I find a really good game that I like then I may install it on the SSD. Average games I just install it on the regular HDD. An extra 20GB would be helpful :D

If thats true I am a sad panda, I passed mostly due to it being 80gb not 160gb but if it was G2 (I really do not think it was) that was the best ssd deal we have had in a very very long time if not forever.

I was mistaken with the G2 comment -- was reading the reviews of a different SSD that said it came with G2 FW.

A G1 without TRIM will outperform a Vertex except in sequential writes. TRIM really is over-rated - unless you're running a jmicron SSD with ridiculously long write latencies. Garbage collection is where it's at, and Intel G1 SSDs have been optimizing themselves with usage since the beginning.

AGREE TOTALLY! I still think it was just a wonderful sales pitch by Intel!

I can just see Chf CEO of Microsoft sittin back at a bar with the Chf CEO of Intel and sucking back shots of Cuervo while coming up with this.
