Yep, picked this bad boy up. When you order there is no confirmation of the gift card. However, I had a quick online chat with the newegg reps and they said you will get an electronic gift card that will be emailed to you by 12/24.

This is an excellent deal. I think around BF the 80GB version was this price.

Hey Htwingnut, the deal came back. But, this time with a gift card promo. I would gladly pick another one of these up but I don't have another laptop. I'm lovin' the ssd :)

Wow just realized this comes with a sata cable and sata power adapter. Not a huge deal, but nice to see.

I've never had such a hard time debating whether I should get this or not. It would be my first SSD but I am still on the fence. The deal is pretty nice, but I hate MIR. I've had only 1 experience with these rebates, and it was a bad one...

I'd go for it! I just bought one, no point waiting forever as SSD's will always get bigger, cheaper etc.. time to drop the hammer. This is a sweet drive at a hot price.

I've done 4 mail in rebates, all no problems. From what other more prolific MIR users say you might get an issue with maybe 10%, but even with these you will usually get your money from a big site (newegg for example) as long as you are sensible about keeping records (ie. photocopy the rebate card before you mail it it in). And of course you have all the sales data saved electronically so no dramas there.

Just make sure the lack of $35 for a month or two isn't going to break the bank!

120GB was $199 on the day after BF if I am not mistaken (or $180 after rebate).

It was $199 for one day, with $35 MIR and with the game Lost Planet 2. I'll take the $205 with $35MIR and $25 from newegg over that game any day.

I was waiting for it to go to $200 again anyhow. With all the rebates I've been getting back, after this I'll have almost $200 to spend on something fun. :)

Mostly thanks to Cin'! ;) I do love you Cin', until you make me spend more money again. :)

Super deal! Unfortunately, I have no room for another SSD. 2 x 80Gb SSDs already in and an OCZ Vertex gathering dust. :(

Well yeah there's $25 difference obviously. But even $200 is a pretty decent price, imo. Btw I thought you already had an SSD?

I have a 500GB Momentus XT in my Sager and an 80GB Intel in my netbook which I'm selling since I got my M11x. I will need more than 80GB in my M11x because I will be putting games on it, hence the need for something larger. If the 120GB Intel didn't drop below $200 (well around $200), I was going to get a 250GB Momentus XT. But much prefer the SSD for no vibration and improved battery life.

Good deal! I picked it up on black friday for $165 after MIR and Lost planet 2. Sold lost planet 2 for $20 though so that was nice.

Oh nice! Yeah, 80GB is not enough if you plan to install any new game. They take quite a bit of space. This will be a good one then!

The gift card deal is over =( but MIR is still effective =)

My question is, do you guys think it'd be better to wait (not forever) for 25nm series from Intel? I heard it was gonna be released Q1 2011. I've been considering a SSD for two weeks, almost pulled the plug until couple of days ago I heard the next-gen SSD from Intel =p

Like any electronic component, buy if you really need it. Nobody knows for certain when G3's will be released and the impact on pricing.
