While browsing around Newegg.com for fun, I discovered that they have "silently" lowered the prices of the Intel X25-M 160GB G2 SSD ( Retail) down to $399.99 (with Free Shipping & before Bing Cashback). Not sure if this will help anyone but I just post it in case it does.

I wonder if that price is part of the sale tomorrow or if it will be even cheaper.
-
I wonder if this price is part of Newegg's April Fool's Day " joke?"
-
good deal, too bad im short on fund
-
That shipped price for retail that also includes a full receipt for warranty kinda kills a few of them oem boxed units within the market place topic area here
Looks like them sellers will need to lower the prices so that the risk & reward competes with current market prices, people know when buying from newegg or other will have 100% fulll warranty and can pay direct and not via paypal.
Only lower prices to come as production ramps up -
Are Bing discounts still active with Newegg? Doesn't seem to be coming for me at the moment. It'd only be like $8 difference, but still...

enough to pay for upgraded shipping...

Ebay is still a better deal with 8% CB.

It's back up to $499 and they put their OEM version "on sale" for $414. Newegg fail again.

jacked up the prices. sucks !! -
Newegg is playing games with their prices. So much for obeying the MSRP.

It Will Come Back Definitely. Intel Will Lower The Price In Q4 When Upper 20 Nm Scale Drive Comes Out.

That's what everyone keeps promising. From the G1, to the G2, now the upcoming G3. Everyone keeps saying it will lower prices, but in fact many (most) charge rediculous prices for it, still.

^ when is the G3 coming out ?
-
I used the term loosely. It will one day get updated, but who knows when? I don't have any information. There's been some talk of the G3, that's all I know. I was simply stating as with the evolution of computer hardware, everything gets updated eventually.
I was reading an article about it recently, I think at Anandtech, which stated the next incarnation is "supposed to lower prices". I just don't believe it, hence my above post. -

ahhh ok
, I thought G3 was coming out soon lolx. And yeah the prices aren't changing by much except of the smaller sized SSD's but I don't need those

With the G2, you get TRIM, which seems to be all the rage. Prices just need to come down. There are good deals now and then, you just have to keep a good eye on it, and be ready to purchase the moment they come, cause Newegg has proven that deals can last just a day...
