I'm fairly new to this site, so I'm curious about whether HP's current offering (30% off any customizable laptop $999 or more) is a good deal or not. Based on past experience with HP, particularly around the holidays, is this a good deal or no?
FYI I've already ordered a dv5t from HP, but I was hoping to get a better price than just 30% off the "regular" price or send it back when it arrives, get a refund and try for something better later. However, I might just keep it if 30% is about the best they can offer. Any comments??
Have they offered dramatically higher discounts in the past, esp. during slow periods? (aka after Christmas)
Thanks!

Here is a list of past coupons that have come out, you may be able to pick out a pattern if there is one, but you can see the frequency of coupons that they throw out. So in actuality the prices with "discounts" are probably the real retail market value.

Thanks a bunch, dude.
Seems like the 30% off notebooks and $400 off desktops is pretty standard. Not sure what the rules are on the stackable coupons; just tried to use the SV3204 (15%) along with the 30% but no go. Helpful to have that Best Deal page handy; thanks again. -
Awesome thank you

Coupon also gives you free 2-3 day shipping.

It depends on how much you are going to spend.
IMO, besides the 30% off, two other good coupons HP periodically offers are the $200 stackable and $500 off ($1399 ?)
Is 30% about the best HP will do?
