I am thinking of buying the Seagate 80GB Momentus 7200.1 hd($92.61) from buy.com to up-grade my new thinkpad R61.However, I've read gruesome complaints regarding the store. Most of it due to the not-getting-my-rebate problem.
This particular buy does not involve any rebate, however, just googlecheckout -10$, so in the end, it should come out $82.61, with free shipping.
Have anyone has experience with the store? Please give me some advice. Anyone who knows of a better deal is more than welcome(newegg's -$20 doesn't work for me though, cant sign up)

I haven't had any problem with Buy.com. I've bought more than my fair share of things from there, DVD Season Sets, computer hardware, etc. However, I would also visit Amazon.com to check out what their prices are as well.

I personally have always had good luck with Buy.com.

I've bought several things from Buy.com, including a HDD. No problems so far. I even got rebates.

Buy.com is a large online seller, you shouldn't have a problem with them.

I remember having a horrible experience with trying too return and refund something from them and have not bought from them in years. How do they rank up with Amazon.com these days? Have never had a problem with Amazon.

Ive found buy.com to be quick shippers. when they ship my items which are shipped free they always arrive far quicker than using amazons free shipping. if something i wanted is delayed they tend to upgrade the shipping or something cuz ive received those items within 1-2 days after

Is buy.com reliable for buying a hard drive?
