I think dv4t would be an ideal laptop for a prospective college student.

I customized it with these configurations and would like everyone's commentary about the total cost of the configurations.

My Question: Is this a bargain for the Dv4t at a price of $782.79? I do not necessarily need it now, but if this is the cheapest price before April 2010, then i might as well buy it now.

Can anyone tell me the price of their dv4t with similar configurations as mine, in my image? or if you have seen any dv4t cheaper ?

While I do not own an HP, just FYI HP does have an academic discount program where you can save a little more as well. I would opt for a higher end CPU if you can afford it though.

then should i wait until march to buy this dv4t?

I do not know which colleges have accepted me yet until march/april, therefore i cannot provide HP website with a college i am attending or will be attending.

Aside from the ill-hated additional $75 tax, the Dv4t meets all my requirements for a laptop :D .

If you can afford to wait, always do. Tech prices are always falling due to the infux of new technology. You might find that your $782 will travel much further next year.

Wait 'till you get into college. The college bookstore should have them.

If I were you, I'd look at Newegg or Amazon for better deals. No tax.
For example, my dv6 1362nr cost me 649, and has slight better specs than that. I'm waiting for Bing cashback, and the price might go down even further. I'd look at Amazon and Newegg beforehand.
