Did you add the USXTRIPLESAVINGS coupon? If you do it's closer to 40% off. Don't forget that step. If you have to, cancel your order with Lenovo and do it again. That coupon save me an additional $106.

No, I think you're right... Off the base price it is a 39% discount. The laptop I configured above is $1927.23 before discounts and coupon codes, and $1175.40 after. I'm placing my order now! With the savings I'll pick up an aftermarket 2GB stick of RAM and a 200GB 7200 HD!

I think so. I surely am note a Lenovo "member" of any kind, but it still let me check out with the discount. Just follow the Member link ("click here" in the OP of this thread). The page will look identical to the other, but the URL will be different and it will show lower prices under the laptop options. Not once did it ask me for a username or password or anything like that. I used the "guest checkout". Hope that helps!

It was always my understanding they audit these types of purchases.. I would like a definite answer because its such a good deal!

Also, it seems to be done through a 3rd party called "I2" are these guys legit?

In my case they didn't audit it (or if they did, they allowed it), because mine apparently shipped this morning. My order receipt has the price after all coupons from this thread.

I'm not sure about the "I2" thing, but I noticed that when I first checked out the link. It didn't look legit (since it was a different URL) but all the subsequent pages had the proper stuff. Also, I called Lenovo and they confirmed the order, so it must be okay. Of course I didn't mention on the phone that I'm not a "member" or "employee", but that's neither here nor there. ;)

    Hope that helps.

I was thinking the same thing and looked up I2 on lenovo's site. They do mention I2 as a solution provider but I couldn't find anything about a member purchase program.

There's lots of non lenovo sites that sell lenovos through Lenovo.

However since Christmas Lenovo has had great deals going on.

Is there anyway to get this coupon or another one to work with lenovo.com/cpp

My t61p is $1,256.18 (w-out tax) w/ cpp and no coupons
Same config. is $1,224.14 w/ coupon and link in thread

So, it would be nice if I could apply a coupon to the cpp

k, it works now. For these specs:

    ThinkPad T61 15 Widescreen
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T8300 (2.4GHz 800MHz 3MBL2)[1]
    Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium[12]
    15.4 WUXGA TFT
NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M (256MB Open GL)
    1 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM)[8]
    UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad)
    80GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm[4]
    CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo 24X/24X/24X/8X Max, Ultrabay Slim[5]
    ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wi-Fi wireless LAN Mini-PCIe US/EMEA/LA/ANZ[10]
    No Bluetooth
    9 cell Li-Ion Battery[60]
    6459: Express - 1 Yr Depot Warranty

    It's $1,179.25 w/out tax or shipping... i think

This is at the plateau of my budget. I'm sure this is what I want in about 8 months from now. By then, it should be much cheaper.

Thanks for telling me about the member purchase program

Does anyone know if Lenovo is the type of company to have any big savings/coupons during the next biggest holiday, say Easter (late march)? Were kind of scared to pull the trigger on this one in case there is a bigger coupon on Easter, or a couple of months after that.

Right now the best coupons are the 25% off sale combined with the 5% and 10% in the member purchase program. We would like to get the T61 with the NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M (256MB Open GL) gpu. But if this is the best deal for a good while then we will just get the T61 with the NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M (128MB) gpu. Still, great savings!

    From Lenovo Thinkpad FAQ
Does Lenovo have a price protection policy?
If you find a lower price within 21 days after your purchase, you can call to get a price match done.

I think this is going to be the lowest price for weeks, but I don't want to buy just yet. Can I save this price for a later purchase?
Do everything you would do when ordering excepting when you get to the last page, do not submit order and select "Convert to Price Quote" instead. Save the Price Quote order number and present it to a customer service rep within 30 days to convert the price quote into an order.

I just bought T61p (I'm excited!!!) not using this thread's coupons, but using FatWallet 10% cash back (expires tonight) and USPSAVEMORE 10% in addition to whatever is online(you have to order thru regular lenovo website). I saved 5% more than the Member Purchase Program and USXTRIPLESAVINGS, assuming FatWallet gives me the cashback.
However, getting the FatWallet cashback will take a couple of months.

Well, my dad bought the Lenovo T61!

    ThinkPad T61 15 Widescreen - 1 Yr Depot Warranty
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T8300 (2.4GHz 800MHz 3MBL2)
    Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium
    15.4 WXGA TFT
    NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M (128MB)
    2 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM)[8]
    UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad)
    160GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm[4]
DVD Recordable 8x Max Dual Layer, Ultrabay Slim[5]
    ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wi-Fi wireless LAN Mini-PCIe US/EMEA/LA/ANZ[10]
    Integrated Bluetooth PAN
    6 cell Li-Ion Battery[60]
    6459: Express - 1 Yr Depot Warranty

    Total after tax = $969.17.

This is after 25%, plus the 15% members purchase program, plus after calling Lenovo for a possible discount (have a credit card limit, so has to be under $1000), they added another 5% off!!

My dad is very happy. Will add another gig of ram and in the future upgrade the gpu.

ady_9 make sure to check back on March 11th then. Before this offer they had the exact same offer. The only difference was it expired on March 3rd. So, you never know if they will extend the offer again...

I'm sorry I haven't got time to read all five pages of this thread.

Can anyone please give me instructions (PM or here) of how do I get the discount and how do I use it. This is the first time I buy a ThinkPad and the dirst time I use an ecoupon (which I didn't find yet). I've already configured my ThinkPad (I didn't checkout yet) and a 15% discount would be very very useful. Thanks!

If you have a credit card there is an option to create an equote.

Your configured price with the equote is good for 30 days. That should buy you some time and allow you a 30 day window to see if better deals are coming after the 10 MAR 08.

I think I'll wait... because a friend of mine is buying it from the US and then send it to me, so the part with the credit is a bit complicated, since I have to sell my 1520 and therefor I won't have the money on the credit card...or, does this matter? Can't I just pay cash for the notebook?
