I don;t know for sure, but the coupon maybe a mistake. It was probably intended to help clear out the old IdeaPad for the new ones they put up today, and they forgot to make it so it only worked on the old models. In other words I'm doubting that this coupon will work in a few days. (It might though, just be warned.)

EDIT, coupon claims to be good through the 25th for what it's worth.

I'm not totally sure, I've never used it on Lenovo.com before. You need to go the link above, then follow the link from their to the Lenovo site, order, then I think you should get a email or something from Live.com telling you how to get your 10% back. You have to wait 60 days before they refund it.

Oh wow, the U330 uses DDR3 ram. I'm surprised, but hey.

That is an excellent deal, almost makes me wish I should have waited.... Almost. xD Dunno what the build quality of the IdeaPads are though, so eh.

 

The IdeaPad's build quality is very good, it is their top of the line non-business series.

Does U330 come with an optical drive or does it require X6 Ultrabase, which I am assuming you have to buy separately?

 

Just bought the more expensive model, with 3gb RAM and 320gb HDD. Not sure if the live cashback will work... seems sketchy. It better come with a DVD burner.

 

No idea...I would bet it comes with a drive sense it list one, but is it internal or external?

Wow the ship date is a Whole month from now? It said 2-3 weeks for the U330 the day it was released, but now it says Ships within 3 - 5 business days. I need it in time for school. Let me know guys. Also if anyone got any more pics of the laptop please share, only comes in black for now right?

 

Perhaps because I bought the higher end config? The website DID indeed say "Ships in 3-5 days". But beneath is a disclaimer that explains it may take longer.

 

Ok guys the U330 DOES NOT have the Ericsson WWAN adapter, talked to a rep and it was a TYPO. at the moment none of them come with it.

 

Yea im going for the higher config one too. Idk the rep said shouldnt take longer than 2 weeks, maybe you'll see it become sooner..

 

I ordered mine on the 19th, and the cashback works. If you go to the site through live.com link, they'll send you an e-mail after you buy with details. I bought the lower end (2GB RAM) config and will be getting my $97.66 cashback in 60 days.

The shipping date is 9/02, which is actually still a bit later than I'd like, but I'm glad it's not the 20th. There was probably a huge rush once people found out about this deal a couple days ago.

btw guys the U330 does have the same looking touch controls in that vine pattern thing as the U110 right? It says it has the "Touch-sensitive audio-video control panel," but havent seen any pics of it with that on..

Dammit really.. that means Ill have to wait till sep 20th or later if i order today. the rep did say shouldnt be more than 2 weeks, but who can trust them. its been switching on the site from 3-5 days to 2-3 weeks, but hopefully it'll go faster than that.

 

Oh well... Im still psyched. I was looking at the yet-to-be-released 13.3" Latitude E-Series. But, it lacks HDMI and probably would have been pricier.

The only thing holding me back on this is the review of the U110. They said the screen is horrible.

Well I think the U330's screen should be better, its not added glossy like the U110 and has that LED backlight. And also the U110's screen is very bad to some but others find it just fine. dont rely on reviews, I havent seen it personally but have seen ultra glossy screens and used them and was ok with it.

Hmm there might be an error on the U330 order page now, for me it is showing both of the configs as the same price, as $1149. Does lenovo do price matching if the price drops after youve ordered it?

Ohh my... I just ordered my HP Dv4t for $1053 (will arrive in few days) and now we have this 13 inch baby on sale.

Does anyone know if HP Dv4t with LED will be frameless or non-frameless screen? Cuz the U330 seems to offer LED with frameless on default. The only bad side of the U330 is the CPU which is P7350 instead of P8400

Otherwise, this look like a better deal compare to Dv4t due to its 3GB DDR3 Ram and being Cheaper (only $976, who could resist?)

I notice U330 has Radeon HD3450. How does that compare to Geforce 9200M?

I need suggestions, which one should I go with, U330 or Dv4t? Does 70 dollars difference worth the wait and the DDR3 ram?

 

If your ordered the Infinity LCD for the Dv4t then your scream will be frame-less.

 

I know Infinity LCD will be frameless, so you're suggesting the LED will not be frameless then. I paid $150 more just for the LED screen!!!

Ohh well, I have 21 days to play with it when it arrives then I'll think about switching to U330. U330's Frameless + LED sounds very cool. It's like attractiveness + efficiency.
