    It may not be that bad in actual use but from pictures the g9 is one mouse I never understood or liked. hardware wise its great, and this price is good too, but the layout of it and having a split seam where the mouse body meets the covering.... something just is not right.

    Of all the high end logitech mice I do not think I saw as many threads about defects or problems as I have the g9. Though I have not seen any lately so ether its been fixed or they dont sell anymore.

    I've had it since it was out, I think I got it just a few months after release. I did the buy.com deal with $10 off Google checkout, some other coupon, etc... it was like $60 or $70 which was pretty good for the original $90-100 price.

    It goes with my laptop everywhere now, gets thrown in my bag, beaten up, etc. Still working really well.

    So far I have to say I really enjoy the mouse. It's true I don't use all the features, I barely use the DPI changer anymore, and I usually keep the smaller rougher cover on for grip. But IMO it's a super comfy mouse to use, it's small but not too small, handles well, the cord doesn't get in the way. If you have the money for it I highly recommend it.
