my dream keyboard is a standard thickness board with standard keys, or maybe even high end mechanical switches, that's otherwise exactly this. thoughts?

Some scary reviews for the refurb.... think it might be better spending the extra $15 and grabbing it new if its truly something you're interested in

It is I've been wanting one for a long time.

I don't believe there are mechanical switches on this.
This was the price point I needed. Even for a refurb, I still ordered work is reimbursing me for it.

Out of the 23 reviews there are there are 5 bad ones. When I receive mine I will provide follow-up whether it is bad or not. I read reviews in the end I go with my own judgement. :)

There is nothing about this keyboard that makes it any good. If you like thin cheap keyboards of the type you find on a laptop, this keyboard is ok for you. But who needs solar power when the normal wireless keyboards run for 2-3 years on a single set a batteries? This keyboard is not that great, and simply uses a gimmick to make it seem like it is worth more than it really is.

Reason why I went for the K800 instead! It is not whisper quiet but touchtyping is nice. I think it is way better than the solar and worth the price with the 3 year warranty. Been using it for years and still going superb. Just needs to be charged every 10 days or so with heavy use

I said I would provide followup when mine arrived. It arrived yesterday at work as I ordered it to use at work because they were reimbursing me. And, what a disappointment. At opening the box up and removing the keyboard I found the keyboard to be dirty, all scratched up and the worst thing was that it was missing the bag "leg". I could have cleaned up the face of the keyboard, but when it was missing the leg that was enough for me for my opinion to go from the middle ground to just bad - and honestly on further inspection the face of it was really scratched up.

It looked liked they had just fixed up whatever was wrong with the issue and tossed it in the box without a care and shipped out, without looking to see if there were any other issues such as the missing under leg of the keyboard. And, this keyboard the return policy was "non refundable" except for another "replacement". I contacted Customer Service and luckily with a firm push they agreed to take the return and give me a Newegg "house credit" for something else. I consider that even lucky as I didn't even want to go the route of a replacement. Work is being cool and still reimbursing me for the money I spent on the keyboard as long as I use the house credit being given to me for a keyboard, of course. :) And, the next keyboard will be new.

I still like this keyboard. I like the firmness and the feel of the way the keys feel when I type on them, so I have not given up on it.

that's too bad that the quality is poor. i'm gonna try to spin the wheel on a k800 and see how it works out.
