One of my sons is hell bent on a DS for Xmas this year.
Im trying to find him one that I can afford. He likes to play my DS Lite so thats best to get him. No need for the 3DS since its way more expensive.
I have not been able to score a good deal yet so if one of you fellow deal hunters catches something I dont please PM me![]()
PS I really like that Zelda Special Edition 3DS too bad I dont really need it so I cant warrant the cost and I would totally want to keep it if I got that.

Try cowboom.com.
They have some decent used electronics. I've scored some good deals on a lot of stuff from Cowboom.
P.S. use the mobile site, m.cowboom.com, as they are easier to browse and are not prone to server crash like the mother site cowboom.com.

Their price has bottomed out at $99 since they were discontinued. Sometimes you can strike gold and find them on clearance but that's rare. I have seen them at several Walmart's in my area for $99.
Have you considered a DS XL? They go for $169 and your chances are a little better at finding a new one. -

I found that 3ds deal way before I posted.
Its not saving you a penny its forcing you to spend more because you go back to spend the GC after.
Plus my son has no need for the top end 3ds. -

A refurbished DS Lite is $90 from Gamestop. If you think you can get away with a fat DS, they're $80.
Not sure how old your son is, but if you kept the box from your DS, you could buy the refurb and put it in that box. That way, he gets something nice to open at Christmas, and it doesn't appear as though you got him a used/refurbished system. The only thing is you have to make sure it's the same color as yours. -

If I go find a new for $99.00 thats fine. I have been seeing used for $80ish and thats not good for a gift. It needs to have the box and be mark free.
Im surprised they are not blowing them out at lower prices to clear stock. I guess instead of doing that they would rather tempt you to get the 3DS instead of saturating the market with DS Lite which would satisfy most people just fine. -

If you want to save some money on a game or two and the console, I've got a target gift card I can give you for a few extra % off the value. I'm assuming you're in an "every-little-bit-helps" situation?

Found what I was looking for. While it was not technically on sale the the price felt right.
Amazon, Walmart, etc are all sold out of DS Lite and do not even carry it. Your forced to pay like $160+ from some 3rd party to get one.
I just happened to randomly try ToysRUs page because they had the Mario 3DS Bundle on sale w/ $50 gift card.
Found these:
Cobalt DS Lite with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Stylus 3 Pack, Screen Protection Kit & Sleeve - Toys R Us - Toys "R" Us
Crimson DS Lite with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Stylus 3 Pack, Screen Protection Kit & Sleeve - Toys R Us - Toys "R" Us
$129.00 (+tax/shipping) so already about $30 cheaper than anywhere else I found but comes with the Mario/Sonic game, some extra stylus, screen protector, and carrying case.
I grabbed it up quickly
Sharing the deal for anybody else that may find this to be a good gift for the holidays. DS Lite is a nice console and works on the game boy games.
