you should get it now. i said that when i was going to buy a w90. i was 1 minute away from getting it(open box was 1,699 from 2,250) then it was gone. so you should hop on that now.

remember openbox can be from 1 to 10 to 100 items.

that asus was only 1. (sometime i think about it. :() then i look at my sager np9262 :)

BTW did they send you a powercord when you bought it?

Also, how much does this laptop go for new? I am having a hard time finding this specification online...

    Thanks!

I have been looking up whether to trust open box items online...Do you have any opinions on whether they can be trusted? I am going to teach English overseas for about 6 months soon...And I am worried about it breaking down in South Korea :) Any thoughts?

so that plus 1,260. and the newegg specs is in the middle of the 2 above.

well i have bought openbox is the past. like motherboard and they were perfectly fine. but look at the return policy and if you have at least 15 days to return it without fees. if so pm me and stressing it out to see if it is stable. to see if you should keep it or not.

Is saving ruffly $300.00 worth it if you take into account the model difference? Also is it worth it because you do not get a warranty past the 30 days?

    Any comments?

I called Newegg and they said they can not confirm whether it will have the MSI Warranty or not...I guess legally they can not say yes or no...But if the laptop is relatively new, then the warranty should still be good...I can check once I receive it if it has it or not....I think if it does not I might send it back.

I really only wanted to spend around $1000 dollars...However, I love what you can get with this...I just don't want to be too paranoid about people stealing my laptop while overseas...And I can't take something much over one grand being taken :) I need the graphics and processor for photoshop and also some basic video editing.

I was thinking about waiting until Newegg starts selling the g71 because I hate the Warranty Best Buy gives you...However, I might have to go with it and hope the laptop does not break until I get back to the USA...Best Buy does not cover international.

When you say cooling...Do you mean the msi keeps the temp on the gpu lower then the g71?

Item out of stock. I waited too long :)

I will just have to settle with the g71 when it gets released on newegg with its 2 year warranty and 1 year accidential.

Thanks for the help though. Those really did go quick! A matter of a few hours!

I called MSI about a month ago and they said their warranty was not international...However, everyone I talked to on the phone sounded confused...So I would not be surprised if they all did not know the answer. I was thinking about sticking with asus because I know their warranty is international.

    Yep!

However, I have a feeling the g71 at newegg is going to be a bit more money...The internet is saying that they should come out by the end of the month. One site has them on pre-order with shipping on July 24th.
