Ok so I am looking to buy a macbook pro 2.4ghz model and am browsing around to find the cheapest deal, so here are my two options:
From the Apple Store for £1259 with student discount and no bonus goodies.
or
From John Lewis (a well respected department store if you don't know) for £1320 but with a free included 2 year guarantee?
So I am asking, what's included in the guarantee and is it worth the extra £70?
Thanks
Ali![]()

A warranty is always a great idea for those who do not want to deal with any issues themselves. For some issues, they are the smartest deal. I flip-flop on whether I personally like a warranty or not. At the current moment I do not have time nor a higher level of electrical troubleshooting to deal with issues and fixing them myself, thus I get a warranty. Replacing a hard drive, ram, etc. is easy...but a graphics module, usb ports, etc. is not. At the price you are given it may or may not be a good deal, depending upon the support level. I have heard good things from people that utilize Mac's support, but I personally have not interacted with them. That would be an aspect for another user to comment on. Good luck with!

If you are purchasing yur MBP through the Higher Education store in the United Kingdom, your standard warranty will include three years of hardware coverage. You will be getting a much better deal by just going through the Apple Store. -
