I got those off Woot.com last year for $10. I love them! All the accesories they come with are great for travel and using them with your cell phone, GPS, etc. Sound quality is very good, but they still fall a good deal short of the current top-of-the line in ear headphone offerings. I listened to the Maximo's back to back with my dad's $300 Shure in-ears, and the better low end and clarity through the whole frequency range was immediately noticeable, as well as a better seal for isolating from outside noise (probably from the vented vs. non-vented designs). Still though, for $19 these are worth every penny.

 

Darn I'm really interested in buying this...just I'm getting mixed reviews >.< Anyone else has a short review on this besides 4cefed4's useful review?

I just realized that the Maximos I have are the IM-390s, which are actually a step down from the 490s being offered above. Although mine look different than the 390s currently being sold on the buy.com site. It doesn't look like the 490s include all of the accesories that come with the 390s, only the extension and carrying case. Considering the 490s retail for double what the 390s do, and I'm very impressed with SQ of the 390s, I'd say go for it!

@Cin': did you follow through the guide, turn on the headfone with max volume for 6-8 hours??? I didn't and wonder if any good to do it.

Got my pair today. And I'm actually playing music at high volume through them right not (but they aren't in my ears). I don't know how I'll tell if there actually is a difference by doing so, but hey, they said for better performance do it so I might as well lol. Lifetime warranty is sweet!! I'm so glad I bought these!!
