Has anyone heard of Mouse Computer, Japan?

The laptop they are offering seems like the perfect configuration and a lot of value for money -

    Model: m-book T910
    Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel ® Core ™ i5-520M processor (dual core / HT support / VT support)
    4GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SODIMM
    500GB HDD
    Write-layer DVD ± R for 2 DVD Super Multi
    NVIDIA ® GeForce ® GT335M
    Glossy 15.6-inch wide LCD display (1,366 x768)
    USB2.0 × 3, HDMI output port × 1, eSATA port × 1, Multi
    1 × 24-year warranty 365 days telephone support

All this for around 1000 dollars. Seems like a good deal to me.

    Here's the link -

From the design, seems that it's a compal.

I am in Japan currently and this just seems like a great deal at the moment. The only thing I am not sure about is the build quality. Maybe I'll go to Tokyo over the weekend, check it out and post about the quality.

If anyone has heard about this company please let me know. Thanks.

The company is just a brand, they just rebrand notebooks, that notebook looks like compal design, in fact, I have almost an exactly same looking notebook here in my office, which is of Hasee brand (a chinese brand), probably using the same compal notebook. Compal is the second largest notebook maker in the world, their notebooks are mostly highly competitive in price for spec, build quality is only average though.

Thanks for the info. Could you elaborate a little more on the quality? Is it that bad that I should steer clear from it? I am not expecting Thinkpad quality but I need something that can last me for 2 years atleast.

No, it's not that bad, my last Hasee (which is most likely a compal as well) lasted over 3 years of intensive use (I use my notebooks 8-12hrs a day) and no problems whatsoever except for some cosmetic ones. The current one in my office is doing fine as well.

The quality is like this: Yes, there is flex, you can feel that the plastic used is cheap, the paint on the plastic will fade from frequent use and will look bad, but it will still carry on working.

Yeah, for a 15" you have lots of options as powerful or better for $1000.
