I don't know how good these drives are, but you can't beat the price!

Interesting.
Performance doesn't look to be chart busting but neither does the price. -
there r reviews everywhere. looks like it has a .8ms access time... that's a lot slower than even a 1st gen jmicron drive.
-
Yeah, it's bad drive. It's slower than a 7200 drive. I should have searched before posting.
-
Looks like a price error since buy.com has it for more than $300. I bought some. LEts see if they ship.
Thanks -
Oh by the way. This is not a bad drive. IT has he older tech controller but still moves faster compared to hdds in running apps.
-
Hey, it's hard to say no to less than a dollar per GB for an SSD.
-
especially when you raid them it will be hard to beat.
-
...and more sales for you!
-
wow, i might actually pickj this up.
-
27509 is a 32-gb verison :-(
-
But the auction title says 128GB. Their mistake.
-
return it or keep it.
im sure that's what they'll say. Buy.com support isnt the best in my experience. -
Well, i just got one...
We'll see if it is 128 or not, and how fast it is.
Too bad there is no trim, but for $110 who's complaining? this will be less than $1 per gigabyte (if it's indeed the 128gb) -
I just might get one for my Acer 1810.
-
I am pretty sure it is a typo and just 32GB. Search the Buy.com SKU and you will get the 32GB version on their website.
-
DEAD and K9Hydr4....having an ssd in the 1810T ROCKS!!!
DAMN!!!! Reputable dealer like that and $110 for a 128Gb ssd...YES I would have grabbed a few if I had seen this add. Given their success, they just may honour the obvious mistake! -
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
maybe somebody should send a message to the seller and check the size.
-
Sold out.
Alitunay, can you post when you get the drives?
Thanks! -
If anyone wants to risk/deal with it Buy.com has a few left on their website.
I really cannot imagine Buy.com offering to fix their mistake by sending you the 128GB version when it is several hundred dollars more. That would be like Dell honoring one of their frequent pricing mistakes--and we all know the likelihood of that happening!
But hey, if you got $110 to you do not mind tying up for a few days/weeks and some spare time it probably will not hurt anything to try. -
^^^
Maybe it's because no one's buying them, and Buy.com needed to clear inventory? In addition to no name, and it's barely faster than a 7200k HDD, which defeats the advantage of SSD. Regardless, 40 drives sold in less than 24 hours. -
Buy.com's warehouse is like 3hrs away from me, so mine should be here monday
-
^^^
Do let us know! -
Even if it is 128GB, I still do not think it's a good deal. For an SSD, this drive is significantly slower than all of its competitors and is only slightly faster than a 7200 drive. Not to mention that it is only faster than the 7200 drive in certain tests. With such lackluster performance, I would rather get a 2tb desktop drive or a 7200 500gb laptop drive. Now if this turned out to be the 32GB variant, then this isn't even a deal.
-
I saw that from the link you posted. Check their feedback. -
And for reference, I have not gotten any "your item has shipped" emails.... so idk what's up (usually if it's from Buy.com they ship it same or next day and i get it the day after) -
Apparently mine was shipped 2 days ago, but the tracking number shows no info.
-
Is the shipping company UPS? I had no tracking info 5 days (it's for a two-day shipping from CA to MD) before turning up in Illinois. Apparently someone at UPS was too lazy to enter the tracking info from the first Depot.
-
OH well, it gets here when it gets here.
EDIT: If you get yours before mine, lemme know about trim/no trim and speeds and if it's actually the 128gb xD -
^^^
Oh, I didn't order the Imation SSD. I was simply referring to an instance of the crappy way UPS handled my package. -
These turned out to be 32GB version SSDs and all going back to buy.com
-
Did you give them a call before returning?
-
-
I would only keep these if they sell them for $25 each not a penny more. I left them a message and they should get back to me tomorrow or I'll go with ebay resolution.
-
lol thanks alitunay, looks like i'll be refusing the package. xD
