that is what told ppl over and over...they don't understand cuz they are so full of themselves..."OMGZ IT SUCKED 5 YRS AGO...IT STILL SUCKS NAO!!!"

i can think of tons of AV that are much worse than NIS. top 3, in this order, are Eset Smart Security (using 30-day trial before i activate my own Norton cuz i wanted to see other AVs), NIS 2010, an kaspersky. unlucky for me...kaspersky was a total nightmare. i couldnt even imagine it passed off for an Internet security suite, but im sure it was a "my computer" specific problem.

    anyways problems w/ kaspersky..
    • it took nearly 2-3hrs to scan my system while NIS takes 30mins/ESET = 45mins
    • made my C2Q temps rise my 10C just by scanning (my guess is this scanner is VERY aggressive) while NIS/ESET do 2-3C at most
    • ugly interface, that green button looked horrible but this is rather minor to what comes next...
    • made my computer choppy and slow as crap when running a scan, as if i was using my P4 dell desktop that i've had for 5yrs. this was completely unacceptable, i have 2.0GHz C2Q (i OCed to 2.4 to see if problem persisted, still did), 4GB RAM etc etc...i shouldn't be lagging in anything other than heavy RAM intensive programs.
this was the internet security kaspersky trial btw...

We're not in 2002 anymore. IIRC, NIS has always been in the top 5 AVs since 2007.

thankyou, i think u are one of the first actual users (besides reviewers) who have supported NIS. you have no idea HOW MANY ppl hate it...like srsly. i dont see ONE flaw in it, as of 2010. its a really nice UI, very simple, unobtrusive. yes u could argue scan times could be better, but its not like creeping old age death slow...the internet security is excellent, i really like the security safe for storying passwords etc. the resource usage is one of the best, or basically the same for most top-end AV.

just curious, i would actually like to hear what the NIS haters actually dislike about NIS from post-2007?
