only thing thats probably gonna change is the cpu, so its not a factor for most people except those extreme gamers that want to squeeze out every drop of performance. the bigger bang will be when they update the graphics card.

btw, if there really is gonan be an outlet, and it turns out its not the much better, but the m1530 from the outlet for mad cheap!

    Dear Link747,

Got the following message from the Dell website upon Check-out:

"We're sorry, the coupon code you have entered is not valid in the segment in which you are currently shopping."

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Yes, has to be the dell home/office section, can't be at the EPP site, although many people have been able to have an EPP sales person apply the coupon manually by calling and talking to them on the phone.

Cool! would you happen to know if the coupon takes an additional 25% off the discount price, or is it only 25% off the original unit price? Because Dell already has a $543 discount for the m1530.

unfortuantely, 25% of original. Therefore, I would advise you to customize from the $999, as it gives you the most options

It is not a coupon, it is a discount for being a student or if your employer has a discount with dell, aka they buy a lot of dell comuters. I get a 12% discount from my employer epp plan if I buy a 3 year warranty with a dell.

    In this post
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=242265
This is similar to that you get 12% discount by extending your protection plan to 3 Yr warranty.

But there's another extra 10% off:
I exactly want to know how to get this extra 10% off(someone said it was a epp coupon?)

    :p

EPP sometimes has extra coupons, you need to be signed up for the Dell coupons email with your EPP account.

How? None of the configurations except the $1599 one let you upgrade past a 5750 CPU.

This coupon only works for the m1330 now....it worked last week when I went to price my m1530, today it only works for the m1330....I talked to 2 people at dell, both claimed to have never seen that coupon before and knew nothing about it not working on the m1530. They pretty much told me to go pound salt....I was going to talk to a manager but I just said oh well, they come around quite often. Hopefully another one will surface before school starts....

prices arent near as good as they have been in the past with these coupons. The basic config adds up fast with modest options, and they better starting configs are jacked up high with big instant $$ off, which of course disappears when using a coupon. I suggest passing on this one.

I actually got them to apply it to me. I argued with them for quite a while. I'm not sure if they just gave up arguing with me or what, but they did apply it.

It's true when you get up there that the prices start to...add up, but if you're just looking for a minimalistic [relatively], configuration, it's pretty good.
