According to Wikipedia, it is based on the Yonah (A.k.a. Core Duo processors)

    1. Wrong. We have gone over this 100 times in various threads. Its Merom Core2Duo based. Yes we have this laptop in hand.
    2. Wiki clearly shows Core2Duo Merom core for T2310 CPU. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Pentium_Dual-Core_microprocessors
    3. Intel clearly shows it being Core 2 Duo based as well via CTP calculations.
    4. CPU-Z clearly shows Merom Core as well.

Will we be able to buy this unit online?

Also, how reliable are the Compaq units these days? I had a Presario 1200 laptop and the battery was out within 1 year. Not to mention the NT os was very unstable through out. It recently went out of order after 3 years.

That is cheap for basic everyday use. Good deal.
Personally, I don't think the Core Duo or C2D distinction matters much for basic everyday use.

I just brought mine home. It is staying in the box till I get the discount :)

Good luck out there tomorrow guys :)

I plan on putting in 2GB RAM. THe X3100 should be sufficient for any light gaming that is needed.

Ha! I got sucked into this a couple of weeks ago...Because everyone seem to want one..I went to Best Buy to see if I can get one in the morning Sunday with a snow storm outside. It was long sold out before I even got there..In hindsight ..it was not really worth it at all.I'm glad it was sold out...Merom chipset and only 1.4ghz...yeah whatever.Plus its a Compaq.I got a much better laptop at about the same price,a Fujitsu Core Duo A6025 T2450 2.0ghz,2gb ram..
God..I hate Best Buys..my cousin tried to get that Sony Vaio on Black Friday..she waited all night and was like first in line. And it was sold out before the store was even open!!!!No doubt got sucked up by those blue shirt and slack wearing monkeys that works there...they suck!!!
