NASCAR PC NCL3006 NoteBook by CISNET (not sure who OEM is on this thing?)
    AMD Turion 64 ML-30(1.60GHz)
    15.4" Wide XGA
    512MB DDR333
    60GB
    DVD±R/RW
    ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Integrated

    $549.99 - $50 Mail in rebate + $13.34 S&H = $513.33

Yes, this is the same old deal that's been out for a while, but I don't see it mentioned here anywhere. It's not the greatest machine out there, but I think it is the best $500 laptop I can find at the moment. Everything else at this price is a Celeron or Sempron and has a DVD/CDRW. Getting a Turion and DVD+/-RW for the same price makes the deal for me. As a bonus the 512MB RAM is in 1 slot (so you have an open slot) and the ATI grafics will do better than GMA 950.

I will be removing those lousy NASCAR stickers though.
(FYI - the CPU is easily accessable and upgradeable, the RAM isn't  )
