Sold out. But hey, even list price is only $1.25/GB and these are only falling in price, rather rapidly it seems. As always with technology, there is no penalty for waiting - other than spending time you'll never get back waiting for programs to start. ;)

This is a nice deal and being 7mm drive, it can come in handy for the new trend of super thin laptops.

Considering it's a Dell SSD would there be any restrictions using it on another system? Is it gimped in any way?

I am guessing it is a normal Samsung drive, the same as the one you'd buy from Newegg. What possible reason could Dell have to tinker with the drive?

Dell has sold SSD's in the past with their own custom firmware, Samsung drives actually, that made it near impossible to update firmware unless released through Dell.

Atleast they weren't whitelisted to work only on Dell systems. o_O

Well, that's something HP would do.

But that's the kind of stuff I'm curious about. Something I'm missing? And just realized no warranty. Forget it. Samsung drives are reliable, but the controller can poop out just like any other one then all I'd have is a $450 piece of silicon.

I was actually tempted to bite. But that's a lot of money, almost would rather pony up an extra $100 or so for a new one if I decide to go for it.
