I signed up for email promotions from newegg. Maybe that promo code is only good for people who signed up????? Or maybe a one time only code??? It gave me that price. I got one (even though I didn't need it) because the price was so good.

    Quoted from email:

Maybe funds ran out that fast?????

NewEgg has been known to mess up with more than just their ads. They've earned a spot on my do-not-buy-from list, which is a very selective list indeed. Go read NewEgg's Facebook page -- you will find a very consistent pattern of complaints regarding RMA denials (particularly involving motherboards), shipping errors, and problems with 'free' add-ins on orders where RMA's are involved.

Had nothing but great experiences with NewEgg since 2006. Until about a year and a half ago, that is. Three rotten egg experiences with NewEgg persuaded me to take my business to Amazon.

I got tracking info for the one I bought yesterday for $135.99 and free shipping. Then today I got another ad from newegg, not quite as good a deal, but another promo code: EMCXTXR23

I hope this one works for more than one person!!

Many times Amazon will match Newegg and other retailers on pricing, much like what they did with the 500 GB Samsung 840. Even if the prices are slightly higher, Amazon is the better deal because you have the 30-day no questions asked return policy. With Newegg, their SSD policy is pretty atrocious: exchange only, no refunds, and you have to pay shipping.

I've done business with Newegg essentially since they came into operation and have probably spent in excess of $30,000 over the years. Not any more. I maybe buy 1-2 things per year from them, and even then, it's usually really really cheap stuff (headphones, cables) that they put on shell shocker. Otherwise it's Amazon or B&H.

same i avoid them unless it is a great deal worth chancing. Or something I am 99% sure won't break or won't bother returning. I bought some Display port cables from them yesterday and for 8 bucks a cable it beat anything on amazon and just not worth bothering to shop at another store. The SSD i got was worth while because i would just RMA it to manufacture most likely since it was 280 bucks i'll actually bother ^^

I personally wouldn't bother with the 250GB version though. It is a lot slower than the 500GB and a lot slower than the new m500 going to come out. Seems like a waste of time and money. Slower/worse writes/more expensive in hindsight

True it might not be the fastest or the best but since this was posted in the Panasonic Toughbook forum and most of us still are running the OEM drives in them this drive would work wonders
