    Atlantatech is once again DESPERATELY getting rid of this fine HP branded but 100% unlocked 3700m card for only 96$. These are like the gtx 280m, but slightly slower clocks & run a little hotter because they are 65nm. They work in all sorts of clevos including the m570ru where the 280m does not work, also work in MSI and even the Alienware area-51 m15x (will be hot though).

    I happen to know that this type cannot be vbios flashed to the gtx 280m or overclocked core/shader very well, but the vram chips are probably rated for 900mhz which will give you some performance gain.

    Buy them quick before they're gone, this is the best price/performance ratio I've EVER seen on an MXM 2.1 card!

    know if it'll work in an m17x r3? I would assume the r3 is mxm 3 :( but don't know for sure.

    Yeah wont work in the R3 (you're right about the m17x r3 being MXM 3.0).
