Check your local Wal-Mart stores for Hitachi plasmas right now. My parents just bought one last week... 42" 1080i. It was originally $2399, then marked down to $1897, and they got it for $899. They only had two in stock.

it is not even 720 p resolution

it is 1024 x 728 non widescreen. how it can be called 1080i is definitely either false or strange. It must have the capability to drive another larger screen?

I dont know. several things are wrong with the specs listed maybe they are right somewhere else.

What it means is that it has the capability to read in 720p and 1080i, but it scales down to fit it all in that non-native resolution. Cheap.

a trick you can do to get around the shipping is call sears and purchase it at a sears local to PC richards (NY/NJ area). That way you can pricematch it to them. Then ask for them to do a transfer order to your local sears. there is good success in doing this as the sales people want to make commission too. best of luck....

The rule I was told was Plasma over 42"
    LCD under 42"
Plasma's The SD picture looks better, but can Burn-in ( this can be prevented)

    This has Good info... TV
