    According to the product page, the UJ-120 doesn't look like it uses the SATA interface, just IDE (it's not really that clear). However, many laptops still use the IDE interface for their optical drives -- just double-check to make sure that your laptop has the right interface.

    Yep, SATA drives are mainly found in some more recent models (i.e. within the last year or so). This drive should be compatible with most laptops out there.
