I saw this little baby at futureshop last night (1000$ CDN). Seems pretty neat and light too. Screen is incredible. Probably better than Hp/Compaq DV1000/V2000.

Any idea how to order it from Canada?

I'd say the HP/Compaq DV1000/V2000Z would be better, maybe because I'm biased towards Compaq or maybe because I've heard a lot of bad things about Gateway...

Well i've seen all of them (the 3 laptops) on the same table. Gateway MX3560 seems to compare well in terms of rigidity but is lighter and more compact. It also have and has a better screen rom my point of view.

As for those rumours or bad things, what are they exactly?? I have read a lot of reviews on gateway laptops and i've follow a couple of forums thread. I cannot find anything to say against their products.

The Dell 630m has these specs:

    Pentium M 1.73
    1GB DDR2
    40GB 5400 RPM
    24X CD Burner/DVD Combo Drive
    6 cell
    Intel wireless
    XP Home

The 512 to 1GB upgrade is free right now. It's quite a good deal. $699.

Well... the intel 900GMA isn't that great. But I can play some games on it. I play mostly Counter-strike 1.6 and Condition Zero. They run great at 60-70FPS! I can also play Halo 1 on it very well also. Haven't checked the FPS on Halo, but I would guess somewhere around 30.

hummm.. dont' have anything against DELL but I still prefer the Gateway. Lighter, brighter and more solid overall. 80 gb and DVRW also makes it cheaper by about 250$ from a Dell with same specs. The only point toward Dell : battery life.

I'm not sure about the build quality and the screen being brighter... But do you realize your comparing a Refurbished system with a Brand New one? Look at my sig. I got that one refurbished from dell for $696. Shipping was $9. No tax. Too add to the specs other then whatÂ’s in my sig.... It has bluetooth and a 9 cell battery. It gets 7hrs! So if you look in the dell outlet you can find some amazing deals. So you can't really say the Gateway is cheaper has better specs, until you compare Refurbished with Refurbished. ;)
