SUPER EPIC DEAD![]()
Amazon.com: PlayStation 3: Video Games
IDK WHAT'S UP WITH THE PRICE BUT ITS CHEAP.
Currently out of stock, but they promise to ship once it becomes available.
It also says it's sold by Target, so it seems less sketchy. And you could always cancel an order before it ships in case they don't keep the price.
GO, WORLD. GO BUY A PS3. PS3'S FOR EVERYONE!
-
Ordered one!
-
Definitely a mistake, maybe it was supposed to be 399. The same thing happened with a G73, everyone ordered and were refunded. If it isn't then a 92% saving is simply ridiculous - so congrats ahaha.
-
In for 1, will probably be canceled but wth why not?
-
"Not in stock; order now and we'll deliver when available. Sold by Target.com/ITC"
I doubt it will ship.. -
Probably a mistake; however, it won't hurt to order one.
"Completely backward compatible, all the way to the original Sony PlayStation"
Is it the first gen PS3? -
Haha, right on that web page:
It's the 60 GB model, so definitely first gen. -
If you go to product on Target's website and checkout, it will show you that it's some sort of controller rather than the system itself. Prior to checkout, it does show 40$ PS3 w/ description and all.
-
Ever since that Ubisoft awesomeness, I HAVE HOPE IN MISPRICED ITEMS BEING HONORED :3.
Though yea, I doubt this one'll work. But hey! Doesn't hurt to try. -
i just jumped in too lol

Ordered one
Lets see how it goes! -
Oh, Temp. Out Of Stock, but you can still order.
Hope these go thru. : ) -
Most def! Put a order in as well. =)

If we order one it should go through, if you order 10 just to try and sell them for a profit they should cancel your order
-
There's pretty much no chance these will go through, this has hit the rounds at reddit, woot and slashdot, so unless Target somehow has thousands of new first gen PS3s, it's not going to happen. Just cross your fingers for some pity Amazon credit.

I wonder why they are selling for so cheap?
Also they are fat ones right? -
It could be a pricing error, or something?
-
Yes, these are the "fat" ones. It's an original, first gen Playstation 3.
-
This could mean that the order will go through but you may receive the Move grip controller rather than a PS3 system and you will have to send it back for a refund. Or maybe they'll realize an item has been mismatched with the wrong description.
-
It's selling cheap because it's supposed to be a PS3 move grip.
-

But its clear in amazon that its a ps3.
Lets see if they stand for their listing and give us a PS3. -

Ordered two, but I doubt I'll get it. I'm using the Amazon Prime trial and I did not get free shipping with any of the options so there's something odd going on with the item beyond the price.
-
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Prime is free shipping on items sold by and fulfilled by Amazon.
This is sold by Amazon but fulfilled by Target -
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Eh, I just cancelled my order since the item is really a Move grip or something. Don't feel like bothering with any hassles.
-
spradhan01 Notebook Virtuoso
Is it updated in amazon too?
-
MICHAELSD01 Apple/Alienware Master
Thanks for the clarification. -
Guys how much money will they deduce from my account if i cancel the item? I just ordered one..
-
spradhan01 Notebook Virtuoso
They said they will not deduct until its shipped.
Anyway, right now its being shipped for $55 so if its real deal, then they will deduct the same amount.
If cancel, its none. -
Yeah. link not working now...
Does it mean they only take a number of orders?
Keepin my hopes up.... -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
more likely they figured out the mistake.
-
Why you guys think it as a mistake? Since the introduction of the new slim consoles for a better price for high capacity, there is absolutely no chance that people are going to buy the older fat ps3.. So probably they sold it for 60$ rather than keeping it in their stock as days passes by, no one is gonna get them...
-
hi lee! Was it in stock when you first saw the deal?
-
It was out of stock since fuzzisih found it.

People here knows its not console, but when amazon got 404, they are making assumption that the orders will go through.
I just got in contact with amazon.
They said:
Melissa:I am sorry there was a system error, the item for sale was actually a game controller not a game console. We are still waiting on instructions from Target on what to do with the orders.
Melissa:At the time of your order the website would have shown a game console. It was supposed to be a controller not a console. That is why Amazon is waiting for Target on what to do with the orders.12:45:33 PM
Melissa:I am sorry this is the only information that we have right now when more information is available. We will be informing customers. -
Last I looked, no one made the assumption that the orders would go through. If anything, it was agreed that it was a mistake on the part of Amazon. If they cancel the orders so be it. If the orders are honored with the product or by other means, then all the better.

If you want to be specific.

didn't look hard enough. a few people are under the pretense that the orders will go through, but they won't.
the 60 GB ps3 isn't even in production anymore. i doubt target even has any, and if they did, they wouldn't be selling them for $50. -
I hope they won't ship the controllers though.
I don't even have a PS3. -
the original 60gb ps3's are actually worth alot more then the new ps3's it has the hardware ps2 support the emotion engine chip full compatiblity with ps3, ps2 and ps1 games.
-
spradhan01 Notebook Virtuoso
When I talked with amazon they told me that if the orders were made from amazon, either you get a ps3 or the order will be cancelled(no controller shipped)
In the target, when you go to checkout, ps3 simply changed to controller..
So, possible people wouldn't checkout. -
I hope they honour me.. Last time i ordered 3 ipod nano 16gb each for 60 $ list price-160$, but they shipped me only one
-
The ipod deal was directly from amazon, this is from target. Go figure.
-
i still hope.
-
Just got this

Order Cancelled
-
It kind of makes me wonder if someone wanted to be a real jerk, they could get them for false advertising (in this case Target not honoring orders). Amazon have always been great to me, which is why I usually only order stuff directly from them.
Coincidentally before I ever saw this thread, I did come across that "deal" yesterday, I think it was advertised on their main page IIRC. I just somehow found it, and there it was. I thought it was too good to be true, turns out it was. -
Told you guys it was a mistake
-
didn't hurt to try
