Just saw this on SD forums, beastbuy wll have the toshiba U305-S5077 on sale starting Sunday 7/08 for $749. Looks like a possible sub for all those waiting on their M1330's to ship in August (like me):

Think I will go over to BB tomorrow and check it out.

    it's only similar in that it's 13.3"

    a terrible comparison
this has no video card, no HDMI, no LED back-lit screen. it's not even core2 duo (let along santa rosa)

you can do much much better than this.
    it's 14month old technology

if you want something that cheap get a dell 1420

This is a poor man's XPS M1330 in the same manner that a Hyundai Elantra is a poor man's Mercedes S class.

    ie, not at all.

I think what he meant was the appearance. I saw this in person earlier in the week and its pretty appealing. The problem is the fact that its kinda deceptive.

It comes in two flavors, one with santa rosa and one with an older chipset.
So i dont know how much of deal it is to sell me old technology in a shiny new package.

It's a different computer. My friend bought one yesterday, it's a great laptop, but it has a LOT of flex.
