Might be the cheapest laptop with an RTX 2070 Super at the moment. Not sure if this can be ordered for shipping or if you need to buy it in-store. It uses a Clevo chassis of some kind.

I just picked mine up. I was going to return my 7i (10750H/rtx208S MQ) to Costco and get the GE66 (10750H/RTX2080S) from bestbuy, but this is a very hard price to beat. Added bonus is there is still room for a 2.5" HDD making it 3 total.

I'm just surprised it came with a 230W adapter for the RTX2070S MP while the bestbuy GE66 comes with a 280W adapter for theirs.

The 10750H being 45W, and the 2070 Super being 115W this system is actually similarly spec'd to last year's Power Spec 1720 with 8750H (45W) and RTX 2070 Max-P (115W) which also uses (with some overhead) a 230W power adapter. You'll get more performance with the 1530 though, at least on paper!

Just got one of these a couple of days ago. Pretty happy with the purchase. Good keyboard, good screen, overall good Clevo build. Got 19219 in Fire Strike without any tuning: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/51832878?

Only immediate disappointment is that I don't think you can undervolt.

Edit: Oh, and the reported model number from Intel XTU is the "Clevo PB50DF2".

FYI, you can undervolt with ThrottleStop. I've confirmed it with both HWiNFO and an actual lockup of the OS @ -150mV on the core & cache.

That is a steal! I actually picked up the maingear 17.3" from microcenter for $1799. I though that was a good deal

$1,549 as of today. That is insane for the specs. Were it not for the thickness, I'd have seriously considered getting one.

I don't really know where else to post this since I'm only sure it works on this particular laptop...
I discovered how to completely unlock my PowerSpec 1530's BIOS very easily. :D

    Use lnsydeH20UVE v2OO.00.01.00 GUI. (Google)
File -> Load runtime (This loads your "running" UEFI/BIOS)
Once your UEFI/BIOS has loaded, click on the yellow/orange "Setup" icon. Then head to "Advanced" then "Advanced Chipset Control" then you'll see "Setup Menu lnsyde FuII Show". Change it from "Hide" to "Show".

Click on "Exit" on the far left and "Save Change Without Exit".

Done. Completely unlocked BIOS. Reboot and enjoy.
You can revert this change by "Loading Optimal Defaults" in the "Exit" menu.

This worked for me multiple times with zero problems. YMMV. Be careful.

Very cool! What options are you now able to see? Would love some more options on my PB70EF-G model but I'm not certain this will work on that model.

Oof, like enough options that it took me over 2 hours to research unknown acronyms.

Umm, there's defaults for all the performance presets (Quiet, Entertainment, etc), tons of CPU, power, security, memory, boot order.

There's a ton. I mean, the stock BIOS gives you access to like 3% of what's hidden.

    HOLY CRAP!

This worked on my laptop, Powerspec 1720.

I can't believe all the settings that were hidden from us.

    Good stuff, mate!

Could you upload/share your version of lnsydeH20UVE v2OO.00.01.00 GUI referenced? I Googled for quite a while unable to locate it. Found other versions, but not the correct one. I’ll give it a shot if I can find the correct version.

Awesome! Yeah, there's a buuuuunch of settings.

I spent a couple of weeks fruitlessly trying to understand how unlock my BIOS... then I randomly stumble into this simple quirk. :D

I'm happy to see that you guys had some luck too.

Planning to get some screenshots of all the new options available after this unlock. Of the few things I have tested I was able to raise the default Package C-State from a Limit of C9 to C10. C10 is now selectable and configurable in ThrottleStop. There were many other exciting options to include Turbo Ratio Limits and Power Limits.

Don't feel bad. I actually had some difficulty finding it as well.

I definitely plan on utilizing those same functions as well. I also tweak with Throttlestop. Please share what you find and maybe even your results from experimenting. I haven't been able to go through ALL of the unlocked settings in the BIOS and I don't understand what the majority of them are for as well. SMH.

Just picked one up as an OpenBox @ $1317.
The lowest I've seen them for is OpenBox @ $1262, but I don't know if those were complete (possibly missing a power adapter?)
Mine had an issue with the speakers (pinched power board cable against the case) which MC immediately fixed onsite. Problem gone.
Anyway, great machine, but getting hard to find as only a few stores have any inventory left.
    --
On the positive side: The machine is a beast! Love it! Added a second 2TB NVMe SSD.
    --
On the down side: The battery life is quite poor and the charging speed is almost equally as slow, so don't expect to be mobile that long or get a quick charge when near an outlet.
The fans can get extremely loud (rarely), but I do mean EXTREMELY loud. The loaded Control Center 3.0 software's fan settings don't do much about calming that down, but I've read the GeForce Experience settings can. Of course, when taxing the machine, aggressive fan cooling can be expected.
    --
I uncharacteristically opted for a 2yr extended warranty considering this is an off-brand and used parts will probably be impossible to find in the future and that MC will provide a credit to a new machine if they can fix (or get it fixed) or get parts within the extended warrant timeframe.
    --
I'm looking for a backup power adapter (19.5v 240w) and an extra battery which I can keep on-hand with a 50% charges stored in a reasonably cool place to put into action when the current battery's performance degrades.
MC doesn't have either of those. Should I use an HP or Asus power adapter with identical specs or a generic? Should I just get an extra battery from the Clevo site?
    Thoughts?

Out of curiousity, do you all think this would last me until this GPU pandemic is over? I am currently rocking the PowerSpec 1510 with the 1070 and it's worked great but I'm ready to move on. Would this last a few years with top end performance or should I look to get a laptop with a 3070 in it?

Where on earth did you find out how to do this? I also have spent quite some time looking into modifying the BIOS.

I did manage to find BIOS for the various Clevo machines with model numbers VERY close to the PB70EF-G, but none of them are titled exactly that way. I THINK I figured out which BIOS and EC is for my machine, but there is that tiny bit of doubt that loom darkly overhead.

Unfortunately, the repository I'm speaking of is very confusing to me, so I've always been deathly afraid to attempt to update my BIOS with anything from there, for fear of choosing the wrong one.

But this procedure to unlock the BIOS is brilliant and may be enough to satisfy me...for a little while at least.

Mostly found related info & files over on Win Raid forums. Most of the stuff over there is wayyy too complicated for me though.

Personally, I'm going to avoid bios & ec updates for now, partly because I might lose the ability to undervolt and partly because I'm paranoid about bricking my laptop with non-official files.

The BIOS repository I'm speaking off is supposed to contain Official CLEVO BIOS and EC Updates. That is what makes it so alluring and interesting. But like you, I'm afraid of bricking as well.

If you have some time, take a look HERE and see if you might be able to make some sense of which BIOS is for the PB70EF-G and the similar models. I think I've figured it out, but again....BRICK!!!!

I picked up a 1530 open-box at MC for ~$1300 a couple months ago to replace a dud Omen 15 (bad fan) that I bought there a couple weeks prior and I'm glad I ended up with the PowerSpec- after a bit of tuning and a repaste this thing is a f**king MONSTER. Getting ~1700Mhz on the GPU under full load or ~1900Mhz with Vsync on and the CPU can indefinitely sustain 4.0-4.3Ghz with heavily threaded loads, or 4.5-4.8Ghz if only a couple cores are loaded. Added a second 1TB NVMe and a 2TB HDD and it's good to go as my main machine for content creation & gaming, no problemo.

Big ups to the generous and resourceful soul who shared the UEFI unlock tool! It's helped a ton with my tuning and it's been refreshing to have a laptop with a BIOS that actually has options to configure ;)

I'm wondering though, has anyone found an option in the BIOS to raise the Base Clock? In the Overclocking menu I see BCLK listed but it's in a read-only field. Not expecting any big gainz from BCLK OC'ing of course but seeing as how I've gone as far as I can with undervolting, raising PL, and tweaking Turbo tables, goosing the BCLK up to like 102 for the lulz seems like a good next step.
