During sometime in late May I saw a few E510 desktops with 24" LCD Monitors for under a grand. I was stupid and did not spring :(! So now I'm in need of this type of deal before Fall comes around. Does anyone know if Dell will have this type of deal again during the next 2-3 months? I'd like to order it in late-Aug and have it by mid-Sept, but I'll wait if anyone knows anything... any Dell insiders? Thanks in advance!

The only reason those deals were going on then is because they included the 2405FPW, which is now out of production since it is the old model. The 2407FPW has replaced it. There's no way to know for sure, but I assume that it is going to be as it was in the past, that you will not be able to get a 24" LCD with a desktop unless it is an XPS. It sucks, but that's how they've done it in the past, they just made an exception in May to get rid of some of the extra 2405's that they had in stock.

Oh, I was just gonna put in here that I ordered one of these deals!

    XPS 400 and a 24" fpw 2407 LCD Monitor. I saw this on SlickDeals.net

My total for this system was $1053 (Before tax & environmental fee, shipping was free).

One smaller discount that everyone forgets is fatwallet. Sign up for an account and get a 3% rebate from dell. Would save you about $30. But it only takes 5 minutes to sign up. I must say though for a nice desktop with a beautiful 24" display that is quite a deal. The screen itself, the cheapest I have seen it for is ~$650. So your getting a desktop for only $350. Also, for $200 you can add the 7900GS, and it wouldn't be a bad gaming computer. :)

You can't use fatwallet with EPP.
