To be fair, a great number of people will have a spare MicroUSB charger and HDMI lead already. MicroSD card is hit and miss but many people will have a spare one kicking around. You'll also need a keyboard in most cases.
I still run an XBMC/Kodi media centre from the Model B Raspberry Pi and it works very well for 720/1080p streaming and playback. I wouldn't mind another one if it has enough juice to output HD video and run Kodi as well - especially if it costs about $5. No full-sized USB port so will need a hub of some sort but worth buying one to take a look.Last edited: Nov 26, 2015 -

Great for kids to get into programming or automation ect, and you know it has an virtually infinite user base for help and apps/software from multitude of other owners, unlike some other brands which rely on performance and features.
