i work at best buy and laptops like those usually go on sale for $399. i think its originally $599. However, there are a lot better laptops than that that go for like 699 799 from an hp regular price. When that laptop goes on sale on sundays for $399, theres a huge rush of stupid people trying to get their hands on it just cause its so cheap, but they dont realize their getting a slow ass computer.

Celeron Processor (512mb memory!!!) and 80 gigs.

i would say you could probably sell it for 399 maybe 450 and hopefully those people wont know what they're getting for that price. Anything more and people with knowledge will know its a rip-off and the ones not so computer savvy will think its too expensive.

Yep, you could certainly flip that for some profit. Keep in mind PayPal and Ebay fees, but you'd certainly make some money for your sleepless night. ;)

too bad the average person is increasingly tech knowledgable. But hey, since you know about the inner workings of a PC you must be a step ahead of the crowd... right?

That's what PS3 "resellers" (scalpers) thought.

Perhaps mix in some RAM, and then give it a go?

    excellent idea Charr!

you could add some ram to increase its value, then sell it for more than its worth!

I'm not following your logic. There's obviously a strong demand for these laptops, people are willing to line up all night for them and the will sell out ASAP. So they obviously have a value higher than the sales price, thus (some) profit to be had.

not really. last year, after the bf sale, cheapo laptops were only going for around $50 more on craigslist than what bb was selling them for on black friday. honestly, if i wanted a crappy laptop with those specs, i'd rather spend another $50 than stand in line for 18 hours. assuming i'm one of the 1st 4 people in line at the beginning of that 18 hours. basically, people are stupid. they'll wait 24 hours or more, in the cold, in one spot for a $229 (not even including tax for the love of god) laptop that you can match spec for spec and get for $400. even off ebay. i'm sorry, but the inconvenience is not worth such a mediocre savings. but maybe it's a good deal for the computer illiterate.
