If anyone lives near this place you can get one epic screen for $330! I am half tempted to see if i know any relatives in that area that can buy it for me but i doubt it :/ So instead of hiding this little secret i figured i should share it.

    Enjoy!!! HF

It's older, but it's supposed to be a really great CRT. Idk that I'd be game at $330 considering people were paying $400 in 2005 (retailed new for over $2k when it came out) , but then again these seem to have a bit of a cult following.

yea but you dont really have a choice at that price since this is only the 3rd working FW900 i have seen in over a year sold in the entire US

My real reason for wanting it is not just because of color and res but because of refresh. Not one bit of ghosting can happen on a CRT period. I really want a screen that doesn't blur like a piece of crap lol. Plasma and OLED at still a ways away for me to purchase :/ Plus those don't actually have flicker so it will still ghost :/

BTW emailed poster and got no response :/ I have family in that general area so who knows ^^ Just it is 100 bucks for freight -_-

Even if it is one of the best CRT monitors ever made, I don't think I could bring myself to pay over $300 for a CRT these days. Hell, I used CRT monitors until 2009 when I finally found an LCD for under $100.

again no LCD can compete with a CRT when it comes to ghosting :/ Only reason to buy this. The response times are instant so nothing exists on the market that can compete.

Is ghosting a problem you've encountered on a decent monitor? $300 + $100 shipping. Spend $400 on a current led and I bet you could find one that will keep up with your gaming needs.

shesh...am i the only one that notices and sees ghosting?

Asus VG278H High Speed LightBoost Video - YouTube

-_- How many times have i posted this in this forum :/

This is why CRT is awesome and plasma and amoled STILL GHOST even though they are a million times faster than LCD. Even on AMOLED+ you need a flicker/strobe to get ride of ghosting. I have played around on a samsung AMOLED+ screen and the ghosting is only marginally better. Must have strobe to get ride of blurring. the day i have a plasma or OLED monitor with flicker will be the day!

LOL. Funny thing is that what makes film movies at 24fps look faster than 24 fps? It's motion blur. And another funny thing, I just threw out a 19" Sony Trinitron because I couldn't get anyone to even take it off my hands for free. Other than a highly unique case, very few will be interested in such monitors.

Looking at eBay's completed listings, Trinitron CRT monitors sold for only about $50-$100... http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw...ct=&LH_SALE_CURRENCY=0&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=50

Yea those aren't 2560*1600 ;) or 24 in I have a 19 or 21in that has decent res as stated above. The fw900 is one of the only ones higher size and res

Crt's are really great but there just not worth it anymore the newer technologies are light years away and making much more progress. The older the tech the more harder to get rid of too.

well let me know when this newer technology comes out because nothing beats a CRT in motion blur. When plasma and OLED TVs/Monitors have flicker support i will be interested.

CRTs have like 60 years of progress behind them, and FW900 is the pinnacle of it. Current technologies still have quite of issues to resolve. Every. Single. One. Of. Them.

For 99.9% of users, the benefits of an LCD far outweigh any benefit a CRT can offer.

and was this thread posted for the normal user? -_- Also anyone serious about gaming and having the highest quality experience would use plasma/OLED/CRT. I really don't understand why people say they are big gamers or buy awesome GPUs and play games on crap monitors. The 120 hz screens suck in my eyes unless you use flicker. the reduced blur on 120 hz LCD vs 60 is minimal and somehow people on this forum say they dont see motion blur at 60 hz and 120hz on LCD...i dont understand how people can't see the blur and i have terrible eyes. To make things worse people put on motion blur graphics on a screen that has motion blur as is. -_- This makes no sense at all.

Trust me, I grew up with CRT's, through colllege and beyond. When LCD's first showed up, I couldn't stand them. The first several years of LCD's were horrific, the only benefit they had were that they were thinner and lighter, but nothing else good about them. But these days, looking at a high quality LCD, like even my five or six year old Dell 2407WFP IPS 1920x1200 LCD, I can't go back to CRT.

The only real benefit I see from CRT's are that they scale indefinitely to its max resolution at least, without worry about pixelation of the image like with LCD's when you downscale the image.

I have two u2412m and when it comes to gaming I'll still take a crt any day until plasma and oled are out with flicker

Again read this thread and watch blur busters...exactly why crt continues to be the only real option until the other two are properly supported
