    Are they seriously selling a Core 2 system with a 1440x900 17 inch display and G92b GPUs for $1700+ in December 2010? I am so stunned I almost have no words for this. It's one thing to sell obsolete technology at a discount, but this is quite another -- not even Apple's shenanigans in the same field are this much of a ripoff.

    That appears to be true, but I don't understand why it is tolerated (it has 3000+ posts). The forum is called "Notebook and Tech Bargains", not "Advertisements". There is no way what is in the first post in this thread can be considered a bargain by anyone well-informed -- Dell may call it a "sale", but it is still an outrageous ripoff. Methinks the algorithm of the bot needs some tuning...

    Someone better get a NC2000 cooler for that bot..
    Looks like its cpu is getting hot and it needs to be cooled off.
    Then it might differentiate between ripoff and deals.. :p

    LOL, I totally agree! It has the same CPU I have on my ultraportable Thinkpad X200 :D that originally came out what 2,3 years ago? :)

    lol maybe you guys should look at what Canadians have for Alienware...

    We got the m15x with 5730/GTX260m/GTS240M etc...

    Only the highest specced one costing 1700 has a 5850
