BulkHead 4:1 PRO
A pretty awesome deal if I may say so.. Slappa makes great quality bags, and this one takes the cake in terms of customization and portability.

I wanted to get this case, but the shipping is kind of high. The shipping charge to my place was estimated at $14. Not sure, maybe I will still get it?
-
Guys--typically we would not allow a newsletter exclusive to be posted on a public site, but we have made this "close-out" special available to everyone. Fire Snake, the shipping quote comes directly from FedEx (or UPS)..and while the shipping is a little high, $29 for this bag is a steal.
-
I was going to say that
. At the very least, you could buy 4.. get free shipping and sell them for at least $50 a pop
.
-
Thanks to OP. In for one.

. I don't mind putting money toward a product , but hate paying high shipping costs.
-
Just think of it like this a $46 bag with free shipping
Glad I was able to help out someone. Hope it brings happiness and joy to you and your laptop lol.

How resistant is this bad ?
Will it protect the laptops if it is put in an overhead compartment and someone else decides to jam something above it ?
How about impacts to the bag ?
Falls to the ground ? -
lol I was about 5 seconds away from ordering this. Those are excellent questions and I've been looking to find any answers.
-
I found a 20% coupon code on another forum that works! It's: HEADFI
This may help a few folks with heartburn over the shipping cost. $37.62 to my door...not too shabby. Can't wait for it to show up! -
Nice! Another $6 off or so

I just ordered one as well. I zoomed in on the pictures and read a few reviews online from other sites, and the bag looks awesome. It looks like the bag retails for like $159
It seems to have a ton of space and is pretty unique design overall. I have been looking for a bag for some time, but didn't want to spend to much as I don't have that much of a need. Time to put my current bag/sleeve up for sale on NBR
. I am looking forward to checking this bag out
Thanks to d.rivera08 for posting the deal and TJJP77 for the coupon code. + rep to you both. -
Awesome
, glad I could help. I'm really considering making the purchase, but I don't think I'd really use it for school as opposed to a backpack.
-
man im trying to avoid buying this.. i just dont really need it but the price is awesome for it
-
does anyone know if this has a trolley?

I am expecting to get it today. I am excited to check it out. -
Awesome, if you don't mind, could you take some detailed pictures? I'm still trying to decide whether or not to buy it.

I'd like to see the inside features of each bag, and how they look when worn(over the shoulder). I'm assuming all 4 put together over your shoulder must be around 8-10 lbs.

Ok,
So I got the bag yesterday and played with it for a few minutes last night. I would like to play with it a little more today. I will try to take some pics tonight and post up. Here are my impressions...
Pros:
- The shipping was super fast. From order to delivery was 3 days.
- Item came well packed.
- Slappa as a company seems very good. This was the first time I have dealt with them, but they seem to be high class all the way.
- The package they sent came with some freebie extras along with the bag such as a mp3 player case, Cellphone case and a large laundry bag. I like this, it shows they are willing to give a little more to the customer.
- The bag itself is ridiculously well made and tougher than hell. It looks like something the Army issues its soldiers.
- The zippers function very well.
- The bag has a ton of space. As the description says the bag can hold 2 laptops and the front 2 pockets are very deep and can hold a lot of stuff as well. You can easily fit a power adapter, mouse and much much more.
- The bag has very good padding as well, to keep the laptop safe
- The bottom of the bag has rubber feet for increased stability on the floor.
- The front 2 pockets can be removed as well as the back half of the bag which functions as a sleeve/thin bag. This part also comes with its own shoulder strap, in addition to the shoulder strap given for the other half.
- The shoulder straps are very strong and the metal clips that attach to the bag are like the strongest design I have seen for such clips. They are hardened metal clips with a unique attachment setup.
Cons:
- The bag is a little on the heavy side. But obviously the more well protected that you want the laptop the more the bag will weigh. The buyer will needs to make a decision what is more important for them, protection or weight.
- The bag overall is not what I expected. It basically looks like a really strong backpack that happens to have a shoulder strap like a briefcase bag.
- I don't like the looks of the bag that much. I like an all Black business look(hence one of my reasons for going with a Thinkpad), but this bag is too bland for me.
- Another thing that is unique is that on the back of the bag is a big padded foam hand in the shape of the Slappa logo, that is raised. The logo is huge, consuming almost the whole back side of the bag. I really didn't like this; I felt it looks cheesy. A small logo would have been classy, but this just looks corny to me.
- The bag overall looks awkward in the sense that it looks like it doesn't know what it wants to be, a backpack or briefcase bag.
Overall, the bag is great but not what i was looking for. I will try to return it. -

Anyone know if this bag can be carried as the "person briefcase" on an airplane (in addition to the 1 carry on piece of baggae) ?

Mine arrived today too.
The freebies are nice. Cellphone case, MP3 case and a large duffel like bag.
This thing is built like a truck. I like that.
I REALLY like the individualized compartments in the front to hold different things.
I think the beauty in this bag is the two laptop compartments can be detached and used separately (each comes with their own shoulder strap.
The trick is to remove one of the laptop compartments and you have a much smaller bag or keep both for carrying more items.
This is a great traveling bag IMHO. I will be using it for my travels which phase 1 starts next week.
Then more travel first week of August.
Then out to Cali August 15th-30th for Blizzcon, San Fran and other areas.
Then out to Wa. for 3wks in October.
and other travel in there.
This will definitely be my travel bag, as that is what it is. I can't see this being a, "lug it around the city," bag, but for travel, it is excellent.
It has room for my laptop, accessories, camera, WAP, cables, magazines, food, and more each with their own compartments. I've already loaded it up to see how it will work, and it is really near perfection for my needs. I've used a lot of bags, and for what I need, it is near perfect.
At your location and need a smaller bag to tote your laptop only? No problem, detatch one of the 17" compartments with its shoulder strap and go.
it fits my travel gear -

Also, someone on SD is complaining that the order showed the coupon as applied, but they are charging full price on the CC, can anyone check ? -
Excellent reviews by those who received the bag.
The Fire Snake's decision to return the bag was a surprise. His report was accurate and detailed. I decided to keep the bag because it was simply built like a tank, i.e. it will protect my 17" gateway P7805 FX (that's until I buy another quad later this year). I will use a sleeve for light duty and this bag for occasions where better protection is needed.
The free mp3 player bag was nice. I use it for my Nokia E63 cell phone. It works better than the leather case from Nokia for me.
The 2 compartments can be separated by the zipper and thus will serve a 2 bags if needed.
Slappa is simply a very classy company. I will buy from them again soon. -

Ok -- I know this is a little odd of a question...But did anyone happen to buy any extras of those, to resell? Or Fire Snake, did you actually end up returning yours?
I'm VERY interested in getting my hands on one of these, and was just doing some 'final research' before possibly committing to one (at the NOW price of $80).... but the dealmonger in me made me keep looking, and is also whipping me into writing this! Figured it never hurts to ask..! -

I was trying to PM you but I couldn't. I think you have to have a certain number of posts to be able to PM. Post a little more
In any event I never returned my bag and never used it ! I have it sitting in a closet. I am going to be posting up a thread to sell it(along with the extra items it came with). It is in brand new condition. All I literally did was open the box and look at it. I didn't even put my laptop in it! It really is an awesome bag, very STRONG. I will be selling my 15.4" T61p so I don't have a need for it. Before I sell it I want to post up a review of it on this board, which should help a few prespective buyers -
Hehehe... apologies for that! That's probably it... Very much 'new' on these forums.. have lurked for a while, researching, etc... but only just now got my shiny new (errr.. 'Refurbished'
) laptop... so I expect I'll be doing ALOT more posting now!
Anyhow... untill I manage to unlock my 'higher powers' like PM'ing... I'll just keep my eyes on this thread -
Bump here -- this deal is ALIVE again! =)
