    Tech Smith is offering a free download of SnagIt 7.2.5 screen capture/image editing software for filling out a simple registration form.

    1. Enter your details at http://www.techsmith.com/Covermount/covermount.asp?ID=8
    2. Check your email for registration code. Note, their servers may take a while to process your request, as they are under heavy load. Do not submit multiple requests.
    3. Download at ftp://ftp.techsmith.com/pub/products/snagit/enu/725/SnagIt.exe and install it.
    4. Follow the instructions in your e-mail to activate it.

    what advantages does this convey over the snipping tool in vista or 7?

    Actually, it does work on Vista...I and a few others downloaded it on 5/29/09..no probs at all! ;)

    I think they want to get you to try pay for the *full copy* of it. :rolleyes:

    I have it on XP on my Netbook, and on Vista on my 1530! :D

    I haven't tried the software, so I am just listening based on comments and feedback from other users in regards to compatibility. :D

    For now, I removed the Windows compatibility information from the original post altogether. Makes it easier for me that way. ;)
