I've bought warranties from them before. While I've never had to file a claim, what's nice is that they allow you to transfer coverage to a new owner if you decide to sell the item. Having that option makes a difference when selling, especially on eBay. Also, if you decide that you don't want the plan any more, you can cancel at any time and receive a pro-rated refund of the purchase price. Their warranties are far cheaper than what you'd pay Dell, HP, or any big-box retailer, and from what I've read, the claims process is much easier.

yea im looking to get a warranty but idk if its worth it. 3 years = like $99. Ima buy the acer 4820tg for $699.99 with american express and they offer an extra year of warranty for free. So technically ill have 2 years would adding another year from squaretrade be worth the 3rd year?

With Squaretrade, you can get accidental damage protection, which I'm not sure AMEX offers. I'm in the same boat as you. I just ordered a refurbished Alienware M11x with my Citibank card, which offers a similar warranty extension. I might get the Squaretrade one for the extra peace of mind, especially since they give out discount coupons like candy.

yea that is true lol. $129 total for 3 years with accidental. I might just get it since im not use to carrying around small laptop in my backpack and its gonna be with a couple books so accidental might be a little worth it. good thing is i called they said i got 90days since its new from a retail store. + the way i think of it first year manufacturer 2nd year amex 3rd year squaretrade. Any breakdowns in those years go with them because im pretty sure like manufactuer after the first break down they tend to make you pay. IF amex decides to reimburse you get some money back from squaretrade.
