I'm not very in tune with these prices, are there better prices that come up with these? I mean like 2 laptops.

My sister wants to purchase a laptop for herself, and i'm thinking I could just do a deal like this to get myself a laptop for class too.

The only problem is, she wants to get a 13" or smaller.. :X

Have her get the inspiron 13 from best buy that is like 650-699 depending on the day.

And personally if i was buying a netbook as much as i love dell i wouldnt get the dell but get the acer because for the same price you get real hard drive space.

Bleh, I asked her, she said no.

She wants to get a macbook, which I think is just stupid considering her 1000$ budget and how bad she sucks w/ computers. She's not going to know what to do, going from windows to mac. *rant rant rant*

Anyway... nizzy, I don't really care about hard drive space. I only use 15GB on my desktop, so, any suggestions on a very cheap netbook for me (i only need it for one year for simple word processing in class, and maybe chatting). I'm planning to purchase a notebook when I go to college, but i'd like to take faster notes in classes right now.

Actually, I don't care about size, just that netbooks are the cheapest right?

Know anywhere I can get a similar deal to the Inspiron Mini w/ a studio 15? For around 150-200$? I want from manufacturer, not like ebay or something like that.

If anyone plans to buy the Studio 15 and doesn't need a Mini 9, I will buy that Mini 9 from you :)

The Studio 15, updated with Montevina/Centrino 2 technology, wasn't a bad deal at $999 since it included a 2-year warranty and 15-months of McAfee (plus LED display, discrete ATI graphics and 4GB RAM). When I first saw the option to add on a $99 Mini 9, I figured they had to jack the price up somewhere else...but I can't find any evidence of that. The Mini 9 alone would be at least $349, so it's $250+ off.

I already have a Studio 15, so I can't take advantage of this deal. But if someone was considering a Studio 15 or just shopping for a solid 15.4" laptop, this could be an awesome deal. That $99 Mini 9 would be one helluva Christmas gift!

I'm not sure if DELL offering this deal simultaneously to the introduction of the HP Mini 1000 is purely coincidental....or not?
