    no don't get that one the refined and updated version at Best Buy is light years ahead of this prototype and for 30 bucks. now it actually is beneficial.

    They have the same thing posted on slickdeals and Ill copy and paste exactly what I posted there here:

    Please note, anyone that is looking to buy this: this draws heat AWAY from the bottom of your laptop. If your laptop takes in air from the bottom (like most/many of them) this will only hurt your laptop, not help it.

    In any case, I dont think this cooler is worth even the 8 bucks you would spend on it. It's horrible in my experience (I got the version that blows air up instead of draws away - it made my laptop warmer).

    Buy.com and Amazon.com user reviews are never very useful when it comes to electronics...most of the reviewers have no idea what would make the item good or bad. If you want better reviews, check out the Newegg reviews; the users are Newegg tend to be more knowledgeable about electronics so they know if their item is working well or what:

    This cooler does an okay job of cooling - see the cooling guide where I tested + reviewed it. It's mostly useful as a lightweight platform to rest your laptop on in your lap.
