This looks like a good deal...

    The Asus K61IC-X3 Notebook PC Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 2.20GHz, 4GB DDR2, 320GB HDD, Blu-Ray/DVDRW, 16" Display, Windows 7 Home Premium

    List Price: $1,099.99
    Instant Savings: - $200.00
    Price: $899.99

    More information HERE.

It seems the Asus K61IC-X3 is a decent budget gaming laptop, but is there a much better deal for laptops that are in the price range of $700-$900, especially laptops that are "gaming friendly" or is the Asus the best deal going at this time?

I think you are right. I seen a few other laptops tonight that are far better than the Asus.

What I would like to come across (hopefully this weekend) is a deal similar to the Alienware refurb deal of two or three weeks ago.

With NVIDIA GeForce GT 220M graphic card, I think it's a good deal for that price.

Btw, is it has ice cool design already ?

Sorry for bumping that thread, but I was looking at the Asus K61IC-X3 and seemed like a good deal for me, but I came here to see you guys are talking about better laptops for the price; may I ask which ones please?

    Eh I don't think it's a good deal at all. I got a Sony CW with a P8700, 4GB RAM, 230M, Blu-ray, and Windows 7 Pro 64-bit for $900. I'd much prefer that over this notebook.
