    So I bought one since the price is in line with other external drives and, well, it looks cool. Sale ends at midnight, so just a few hours left. Might not a one-time deal, though, since there are 200+ units left at the time of writing.

    Yes, ThinkPad not required. You can make it play nice with ThinkPad Rescue & Recovery or just plug 'n go with any machine. Only connects via USB, if that's an issue.

    Another 40+ sold since I posted, so I guess the deal isn't so bad.

    I bought it at 9:15 pm, assuming the discount would show up (the banner ad on the page said $65) but when it checked out my basket, I was billed $126.22. ???

    Yeah, price is back up to 115.00...only thing I can think of is 9:15PM Pacific = 12:15AM Eastern (Lenovo Outlet HQ) = Deal expired.
